There was no waiter. Hardly any one present, customer or staff. Cigarette smoke in the air. I couldn't trust the food after such an atmosphere and said a prayer. A staff, not waiter took our orders. Dunno how a business is run like this.

Website isn’t updated, so you don’t get what you think you ordered if you’re getting carryout. Why have a website if you don’t update it?

They have listed on their door and website open at 7am for breakfast and the doors were locked. You call and you get a automated voicemail.. ridiculous and inconsiderate, go elsewhere!!!

Sucked ! Should have listened to the reviews. Went for a salad I seen on online menu, tried calling first to verify they had it but no answer. Got there and of course they didn’t offer the salad as shown online. I ordered a different salad that was just okay. $23 dollars and the only meat that came on it was 4 pieces of shrimp . Very disappointed.

Don't waste your time. The menu on the website is not been updated. What they do offer is not much and not worth it.

We ate here on NYE 2022 as a family (we are staying in the hotel). My husband had the NYE special menu whilst the rest of us ate off the standard menu. We were brought bread rolls to start, which were clearly shop bought (rather than freshly made), and had simply been toasted to warm making them crispy on the outside. I have never been presented with shop bought bread rolls in a restaurant in my life! This set the precedence to the rest of the meal. My husbands prime rib steak was one huge lump of fat, there was hardly any meat that was actually edible. My daughters buffalo chicken pizza was inedible as the chicken was so greasy. The j*** chicken pasta was like a soup, with again fatty bits of chicken. The cheesecake dessert was shop bought and again inedible. I took my toddler to the toilet and these clearly had not been checked or cleaned in a long time, one was blocked and the other just about usable. The restaurant was not even half full, so no excuse for the poor standard of food or cleanliness of the restaurant. It seems that no care or thought goes into the menu and there is no attention to detail in the restaurant. Given the location, this place could be great with an overhaul of the menu. Gordon Ramsey is needed here!

I tried to cancel my reservation but it would not allow me on OpenTable so I called them and they said “No”. I didn't go but you can't book another reservation if you already have a current one so that's why I was trying to cancel. This is a HORRIBLE restaurant.

I don’t know how anybody could leave anything more than 1 star for this place… do not waste your money here. First off, my experience started with their very unenthusiastic, rude, unprofessional host, Karen. I called to check for availability and was greeted with a grumpy, “Compass Grill”. I asked about availability for two and was told “Not right now, we’re packed and I only have one server” So I asked, “okay… when would you have availability..” and she said “I don’t know, maybe in an hour.” I then hung up and made a reservation online 30 mins after the call. When we arrived l, the restaurant had 4 tables in it and 4 bar guests. (Not “packed”). We were greeted by the same grumpy Karen who took us to our table. Indeed, there was only one server (!?) who was very nice and good at her job thankfully. (You go Caitlin!). However, the drinks were awful… what I would expect to get at a downtown trashy bar, not this nice, on the beach, hotel restaurant. We continued on with dinner anyway and the Cesar salad was fine, can’t mess that up. Then we were served some rolls, that I literally banged on the table and you could hear it from miles away. The rolls were cold and hard as a rock. Why even bother serving those? Our $40 filet and $25 pasta came out next. The “filet” was literally worse quality than a Publix flank steak. It was dry, chewy, and not cooked to temperature either. We frequent steak houses and I am 100% sure that was not filet. The veggies it came with were cold and still tasted like the probable can it came out of. The pasta sauce was good but the chicken fully resembled and tasted like the frozen bags of precooked, pre-sliced Tyson chicken from the grocery store. Disgusting. Appalling. As embarrassing as it was, I had to involve the manager. I was NOT about to pay over $100 for this birthday dinner when the food was that low quality. She thankfully removed the entrees and we payed for what we consumed so we could appropriately tip Caitlin, who was having to serve and bartend for the entire restaurant. Horrible experience. This is St. Pete Beach. Whoever owns Compass Grill, DO BETTER. Fire the host, hire more servers, and teach your kitchen staff how to cook. If you’re going to charge those prices for the menu, stop going to the Walmart frozen section and invest in appropriate ingredients. We would have had better luck at a Perkins or Chilis.

Simply not good. Lacked adequate seasoning. Menu should have been more basic. Overpriced for the quality.
