“Best hometown feel bar in a tourist location ever! Staff is friendly, fast and professional. The whole vibe in this place is happy and relaxing. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area and have I mentioned the drinks yet? Bloody Mary’s and mimosas are delicious and potent! My two favorite qualities in a drink. Definitely worth a stop. Go on Sunday and enjoy the Corey Avenue market as well!“

riptides Bar • $
7618 Blind Pass Rd, St Pete Beach

“In town from Charlotte, NC. Friendly staff, good patrons. But hands down the best prices on drinks I've ever found anywhere. Very cool local vibe. They do allow smoking "inside" but it's an open air bar so not a big deal for me. Just go, a great local spot.“

“A diamond in the rough! Actually I fell in love with the place. If you want to meet real people in St Pete, that is where they are. A real home town feeling where everyone knows everyone and everyone gets along. Bar staff are awesome, in particular Beth who, besides being the hottest thing in there, has a wonderful soul and personality unmatched. She is a lovely person. Thanks for making me feel at home. “Well what are you looking for a clean place? Maybe good temp..like a/c .None are gonna be here for you. This place is a mess ..you may get actually catch something there. Yet this has the best dive bar atmosphere you can want. The band does a good job of keeping you in the mood. The bar tenders have a good poor. It's a place you love, but need a shower afterwards.“

Paradise Pub Bar • $
6032 Seminole Blvd, Seminole - 6.27 miles

“I have been here a couple of times and it was ok. I went in again after a while and they had a new bartender, I think her name was kim. She was a breath of fresh air to the place, happy, smiling and professional. Hadn’t really experienced this in there before so it made such a difference. Even though they only have a beer and wine license, it was ok with me as I drink wine, so that was good. I did however notice people bringing in their own liquor and wine which I thought was odd. Not sure how you make money doing this but none of my business. How do you account for what someone has had to drink. Pretty serious if something happens as there is no evidence of why they were so intoxicated if the case may be.Anyways when I go back I hope Kim is bartending as she knows how to treat all customers both regular and occasional customers like me with kindness and is very professional.“

“So I was leaving the Julian Marley concert and came into pelican. At this point all I wanted was a water because I felt super overheated. As I'm trying to get the bartenders attention this random security chick comes up with a bottle of water and a cup of water as well and tells me to keep the water bottle on the back of my neck.I appreciate you random security chick. You're a lifesaver“

“We love dive bars, we are from WI. So this was our vibe. Bartender (Missy, I think) was so nice & attentive. Some locals gave us tips to go see: Pier Teaki on St. Pete Pier and Birch Wood Sky Bar (roof top). Missy suggested The Galley for food. SO good! We had the best day thanks to those ladies!“

Steve's Tavern On The Avenue Pubs • $
933 Central Ave, St. Petersburg - 6.59 miles

“Quintessential dive bar. Haze of smoke and whiff of stale beer upon entrance. Draft section and liquor rail that leans toward the old tried and true with just a smattering of the new dangled boogie juice. Full blend of clientele including a few that have the look that lets you know they've lived some things that aren't to be talked about. At least not for a few more drinks. Cheap pool table that still sports a couple cues that roll relatively straight. One of those damn new internet connected jukeboxes ..... sigh. (Can't stem the tide on everything.) Perhaps the one thing that does stand out about Steve's, at least in my visits, is that the staff seems to be universally friendly and inviting. Gotta be honest though, adding one gruff old fart behind the bar might not be a bad thing to complete the place. Bring cash. Buy drinks. Leave your pretense at the spots surrounding it, and you'll have a fine time.“
