Moon's is a typical "hood" spot and I say that affectionately. It's downtown Sanford's equivalent to your local bodega in NYC. It's a tiny and crammed space, a bit dirty and dingy, and has a little bit of everything you might need in a pinch. I mean, what more could you ask for! I've been there a few times in the past but decided I wanted to try their food this time around. I was in the mood for a cheesesteak and fries and ordered one for $7.99. ($6.99 just the sub) It comes in a 10-inch sub, with grilled onions, mayo and provolone cheese. Unlike the crappy local competitor Skibo's subs cheesesteak. It not only tasted better, but there were no extra charges for toppings and it was larger. The best way I could describe the taste was basically a White Castle slider in a sub!
