Food is usually consistently good as well as the service. Tonight, first my drink was incorrect but said nothing. It's busy its OK. Then my salad came with dressing when asked to come without as I can't have oil. Still ok, said nothing. Then the entrees came and my tuna was ice cold not sushi grade thin and chewy. No soy or Wasabi. No chance to send bavk.as the waitress never checked on us for over a half hour. I flagged the lovely host as he walked by and showed my untouched meal and politely explained the situation. The waitress Then finally appeared, insulted me, took the food and slammed down the check and said it was my fault. I said you are very sweet and had you checked on us we would have likely resolved the meal and I could have eaten. The service and food was a fail tonight.

Food was excellent but service was soooo slow. We got bread as soon as we sat down but drinks were far behind which made the bread less appealing. Calamari and shrimp appetizers were excellent. The crab bisque soup was by far the best of the night. Our party ordered a variety of seafood, steak and chicken fingers. Everything was great including the veggies which were cooked perfectly!! If the service was better this place would definitely be 5 stars.

Let me share my horrific experience with timbers restaurant. They contacted me on indeed as I was seeking employment so I arrived with resume in hand as I was instructed to do between the hours of 10am to 3pm. I arrived and introduced myself to owner who was working behind fish counter. He asked if he could help me assuming I was a customer. I proceeded to tell him that I was there responding to a request by him from indeed for employment and I was told by women who answered phone to come in between 10am and 3pm. He then proceeded to get very annoyed stating WHY IS SHE TELLING YOU TO COME IN YELLING AT ME. He then asked me (with the upmost agitation DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES!!!) I said yes (very high end references) . Do to his nasty unprofessional demeanor I shrugged it off due to the fact that he was desperately hiring(his words not mine) and he was overwhelmed trying to cut fish and wait on customers. So he said call me at 9am tomorrow (I new he was just wasting my time at this point blowing smoke. So I proceeded to call him at 9am next day just to be lied to by women answering phone stating he was in a meeting he would call me when he got out. Again I was rudly dismissed. Timbers has lost out on a veteran employee. To be treated with such degrading, behavior and disrespect clearly tells a story as to why Timbers will always be hiring. I can't imagine being an employee of this man. So perhaps he did me a favor in the end. Traders is obviously killing Timbers business and perhaps that's why this owner is so angry. They will not make it.

Considering we left traders due to terrible service this place was amazing. They actually have two restaurants in the building. The food was great got the crunchy grouper and shrimp basket. The shrimp pizza with white sauce and oysters with garlic butter and parmeasean pizza. The place is really nice and the service was great. Thank you Erica and the guys name started with an H.

For professional service, Valco is the man! The Timbers has an incredible history for fresh seafood and the "Sanibel Island" experience. Stop in after 12 noon for fat filets of black grouper, swordfish, tuna, and Chilean sea bass. Pick from 4 different preps of shrimp AND filet mignon! Ask Valco for special order status on takeout fish. Prices are better than competitors! Remember your sauces, seasonings, and fresh clams prepped for soup!

Tried getting into the fancy side. Even though we called ahead they couldn't get us in (said they had no record of it). So we went to the sports bar side (mostly same food).Everything we had was excellent. They took the fish dip off the menu but still have smoked salmon. It was excellent, served cold with crackers, sour cream and Dill. (Kind of a deconstructed fish dip)The special of the night was jerked Mahi Mahi. To me, the seasoning of the jerk was a little light, but the Mahi Mahi was still very good overall. It was served with black beans and rice cooked to perfection. The crab bisque was good, but was missing the chunks of crab I look for in a bisque. Also recommend the Big Bang Shrimp. Very lightly fried, cooked to perfection. The staff on the sports bar side was very knowledgeable and friendly. The host on the fancy side was a little stuck up and snobby. Kind of looked down at us, almost like they were profiling us, especially since they "lost" our reservation for our anniversary dinner.Kid-friendliness: If you have kids, stay to the sports bar side where the staff is welcoming and kind. The kids don't need to be around the negativity and judgement of the fancy side. You never want to expose them to someone that makes them feel "less than".

This was one of the best meals we have had on Sanibel. I had Manhattan Clam Chowder and Crunchy Grouper. Both were excellent.

Visited twice during our recent trip to Sanibel. Food was delicious, service was exceptional and a nice setting. For key lime pie fans, theirs rates 5 stars!

Besides the fact that they were open on Christmas eve and.... The servers were busting their behinds but still had a smile on their face.... this restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and the food was outstanding! Very fresh oysters and delicious Manhattan Clam Chowder to start! We both ordered the seafood combo. The hubs ordered the crunchy fried and mine of course was broiled. We enjoyed the chowder so much, we ordered it to go for the following day! Good job and super smart to provide for those traveling out of town needing a Christmas dinner!!

Another Sanibel restaurant with amazing food! Went for Christmas this year and multiple times through my life with my family. Awesome seafood, great raw bar, I absolutely love this place. All around 5 stars
