We have been going to Bud and Alleys for well over a decade. The service and food has always been excellent. While the service and atmosphere remained great the food tonight was subpar at best. We sent two different entrees back twice because they were undercooked and had no taste. We also had to send a mixed drink back as well. The manager tried to make it right but we left disappointed. Food and drinks were certainly not worth the prices they were charging.

We are visiting from Nashville and we always have the best time at the upstairs bar. We remembered Jackson from last year as he has worked his way up from being a barback to a bartender. We found out that not only did he take EXCELLENT care of us the entirety of our time at dinner, he was also technically clocked in as a barback that whole night. Which means he made all our drinks, took our order (while having incredible menu knowledge) AND delivered our food all without actually being a bartender. He said he does it “to ensure exceptional service” which is precisely what you want when running a restaurant of this caliber. He went above and beyond for us and we will most certainly be back for the food- and we will sit wherever Jackson is working. He is 100% the model employee anyone would be happy to have on their team.

One word for this place is overrated. Menu is small and each item is $40-$50. Bread you have to pay for….. yeah my thoughts to for a place that cost that much per meal. Service was standard and atmosphere was nothing special. Honestly expected way more for the hype this place had. My 2 cents is if you are want fine dining skip this place and go to Cafe 30A. Pay the same price but get the value and service you would expect.

Beautiful views are the main draw here, although the food is great as well. Fish was fresh and server was attentive. Menu was a bit quirky ( no French fries- sweet potato only & NO ranch (!) for the kids chicken tenders) but food was prepared nicely and flavorful. Beautiful views of the Gulf in classic Seaside style. Worth a visit.
So they used to have the best crab cakes on 30A, but they changed the recipe or something and now Cafe 30A has the best crab cakes on 30A. The Bud and alleys crab cakes don't have much flavor. So sad because they used to be very yummy.
