Everyone at our party wanted to know where it was from and raved about it. I had sent a couple of inspiration photos and the cake they delivered was even more beautiful then I was expecting. OMG…so worth the 45 minute drive. The cupcakes have the perfect amount of sweetness. The cake and icing make for a FLAVOR EXPLOSION. I met Ron’s son. Really nice guy. It appears that he truly enjoys what he does. I will be back. BTW…I had a Key Lime Whoopie Pie on the way home. It was absolutely FANTASTIC.

We first learned of cakes by Ron at our venues food and wine tasting event. There were two cake vendor options but in the end, decided to go with cakes by Ron due to the quality and care that I observed in person and while doing my research.We scheduled a cake consultation with Nathan and could not be happier with that experience. He was very friendly, attentive and asked questions not only about the cake but he took the time to get to know us as well. Honestly, Brian and I could have sat there for hours talking with him! Turns out they have provided cake and cupcakes for our company’s opening night parties! What a small world! He listened to our vision and helped make the design come to life. Not to mention, sampling the different flavors that we were wanting for our wedding was also a bonus because they were so delicious!Flash forward to the week before our wedding and I had to zip over to the shop to drop off a color swatch of a specific color we wanted for part of the cake. We met with Ron and he was so nice and went over the details one last time before we headed out.The day of our wedding at LBKC resort, the cake arrived on time and when I finally was able to see it, I was so excited at how perfect it was. We originally had planned a 4 tier cake with our anticipated guest count, however when our final guest count number came in we were only contracted for 3 tiers. Each tier planned was its own flavor combination, so we were not wanting to lose any of the flavor combo’s, but instead paid for the 4th tier so we could still have everything as originally planned. They were so kind and understanding of our visions and we were just so happy to make it all work!Cakes by Ron is the best cake vendor around and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with the family owned business and to have their tasty amazing cake at our wedding. Best cake hands down and we will always remember it from our special day.

Requested a cake without fondant (choking hazard for the baby for whom the cake was ordered, and also because we don’t like the taste or texture, and we paid $200 expecting an elevated level of artistry above fondant). The cake came with >75% covered in fondant, and different from the photos of what we wanted the cake to look like. The colors were incorrect. We called and spoke with Nathan, who proceeded to tell us that we were in the wrong, and that the cake was “not covered in fondant,” and that it wasn’t possible to make the cake with designs we didn’t ask for without fondant. We were told in writing that it wasn’t an issue to make the cake we asked for without fondant. Had we been told otherwise, we would have changed the design or chosen another bakery. The rep proceeded to argue instead of taking accountability. After convincing the rep that we have the right to have the cake we requested and paid $200 for, he told us we could bring the cake back the next morning and pick it up hours later (not possible without childcare and with a physician work schedule, in addition to preparing for a birthday party) and he would “remove the fondant,” which still would not fix the colors and designs that weren’t what we asked for. We wouldn’t be writing this review if someone had simply taken accountability and said, “I’m sorry the cake had fondant, when I see that you requested there not be any fondant at all on the cake,” instead of arguing why the cake we requested should have fondant on it and we were wrong. We tried to resolve this with the company directly. This person was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude, and a respectful response from the company validating/acknowledging that they made a mistake would have made a huge difference and I wouldn’t be sharing the concerns in a Google review. Will never purchase a cake from here again.

Ordered a birthday cake. Fondant was too hard, and frosting was overly sweet, plus it did not go well with the cake as was suggested at the store. The cake itself was not as soft as expected. Sadly, we ate less than half of it and had to dispose of the remainder. It was more appealing to the eye than the taste buds. Disappointed.
Everything else might be good, but I just had a Christmas cookie, and it was awful. Tasteless cookie and rubbery frosting. The best thing was that I didn't buy them. I would have to ask for my money back.

The cake turned out exactly as I had asked. It was so incredibly delicious. The customer service I received via long distance was more then I could have asked for. I would highly recommend!!

The sweetest most precious girl was working today so patient, kind!!But every experience has been with this company !I remember my dads 80th ( moe hits the big 80) cake cupcakes also my client’s ( lady Alzheimer’s ) 90th !! With orchid’s all her fav colors beautiful cake!!people I love they deserve special! And best! I definitely can’t afford do extra things! but when people you love special moments ?Cakes by Ron! You get not only unique memories of fun time’s experience but that cake! Cupcake! ??? My dad passed away but I never forgot the smile, laugh, joy on his cake !!
