Eating here with two people that spent 3 months each in Peru, it's obvious how authentic Almazonica is. The ceviche was not fishy at all, and the beef bowls were a big hit with the crowd. I had the Tallerin Verde, which was one of the most well-marinated and juicy pork chops I've ever had.The service made us feel like family. The host even went out of her way to make a drink, that isn't usually served, to replicate something that my partner had while living in Peru. This is definitely on our must-return list the next time we're around!

This is one of the most unique places in all of Sarasota. Want a local brewery experience? Darwin brews his own delicious craft beer drafts. Want a unique and refreshing cocktail? Try the Paloma or the Chilcano to beat the heat and unwind. Hungry? Try a ceviche or one of their stir fry dishes. For dessert try one of the best slices of key lime pie you can get in the SRQ.Eat like a local and try this undiscovered gem!

Don't give it another thought, GO HERE! We came here for dinner on a whim while staying at a vrbo nearby. Incredible atmosphere, service, and food was amazing. It was chilly in December, so we sat inside (with our 8 month old) but their patio is adorable and full of plants. It would make a lovely al fresco lunch or dinner place.

Indulge your taste buds in an extraordinary culinary journey at Darwin's, a Peruvian haven that exceeded all expectations. As a proud Peruvian visiting from Washington DC, I can confidently say this restaurant is a gem. The ceviche, a tantalizing explosion of freshness with the perfect spicy kick, set the tone for an unforgettable meal. My husband couldn't stop raving about the Saltado bowl with tostones, and my tallarines verdes con churrasco was a revelation. To top it off, the key lime pie and Lucuma flan were a divine conclusion. Darwin's is not just a restaurant; it's an exquisite experience that I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. Prepare to be enchanted by the flavors of Peru!

My wife and I went to this place with another couple for dinner. When the waiter took our order he was requested to issue two checks, one for each couple. Of course when the bill came he had not given each couple a separate bill. More on that later. The two women in our party both ordered a "poke` (a peanut sauce stir fry). When the meals finally arrived an hour later both ladies complained that there was no peanut taste in either meal. The waiter was requested to bring each some sauce. That finally showed up at the table about 15 minutes later when the dinners were almost completed. Now the respective statements show up which, of course are incorrect. My wife had one glass of wine but we were billed for two. Each of the two bills were charged $3.99 for the peanut sauce which was never cooked in either dish. Finally, each couple was charged $1.78 "Supplement Fee". So what is a "Supplement Fee"? We were told that we were each charged this fee because we used a credit card to pay our respective statements. In today's world almost everyone uses a credit card. We asked for the manager who told us that there would be no ":Supplement Fee" if we paid in cash. Apparently the "manager" was also the owner of this place. Did he suggest that the "Supplement Fee" would be waived; that he would not charge either couple for the peanut sauce which was not on the Stir Fry although this was a dish that was to have a peanut taste. NO!! He was angry because we dared to question the charges. Go find another place if you want Peruvian food, decent service and management that wants your business.

Definitely some top notch Ceviche. I lived in Peru and this is definitely real, authentic, and gourmet. I haven't tried anything else as I'm obsessed with ceviche, but I'm sure it's great.

Pleasantly surprised about this hidden gem of a restaurant. In a small shopping center and really not visible from main road. Found it while googling restaurants in Sarasota. So glad I did.Food was absolutely amazing had the gauc and chips, Volcano bowl and paella. Nice beers too. Service great and Restaurant very nice.

I have to tell you as far as beers go there is OK not great at all to my taste buds. They had a couple different IPAs in which we tried and they were both really bad. I do want to come back here and eat as everyone has raved about their food, so I'm excited to do that in the future.

You will never find a better skirt steak, ceviche or key lime pie anywhere! I know that’s a huge statement, so let me back that up. When Manny Machado, signed the biggest contract ($300M, circa 2018) in North American sports history-he asked Darwin to be his family sports nutrition chef. I loved the Lama Mama Porter beer made right in the place and all the ambiance throughout. This team is locally picked, trained and has great leadership of Darwin’s family. Darwin sources all his foods locally daily-you can taste the freshness!
