This restaurant has a very creative menu and the presentations are beautiful but the ideas don't always work. I was not completely thrilled both times. My husband and I shared a flatbread appetizer special with burrata that was pretty good but could have been crispier. Our dining companion had the regular burrata appetizer and really enjoyed it. I had the rack of lamb with pistachio and mint. The pistachio and mint turned out to be a creamy sauce that to me did not work with lamb. The potatoes and arugula served with it were nice and the lamb itself was good. My husband and I shared the pistachio creme brulee for dessert and it was delicious. Service is excellent. So, I think the success of your meal here depends on what you order.

It's the my favorite Italian restaurant. The style of Italian they bring from home is unlike any I've had, and I love what they do with flatbreads, truffles, and gnocchi. It also makes for excellent takeout in the time of coronavirus!

Just got take out from here! Burratta, pasta with mushrooms and pasta with lamb ragout ..... it was all phenomenal! It was my bday dinner and exceeded my expectations for takeout. Once things return to normal, we will definitely be back to dine-in! Ty!

Wow. That was fantastic. Got takeout. The Burrata appetizer was packaged beautifully and the prosciutto was fantastic. We also got the mushroom pasta, which was good, but easily overshadowed by the veal ossobucco. The veal was incredible. The risotto with is served upon is super creamy with a nice acidic bite. One of the best I've ever had. Ossobucco is fall-off-the-bone.

This is a pearl of sarasota. Amazing fresh, genuine Italian food lovingly prepared and served by a sweet Italian couple and their staff who all know exactly how to make their diners feel relaxed, and be able to enjoy a delicious meal.

Went to La Violetta last night. What a treat! I've been to Italy twice, even on a food tour and never before have I had such amazing food! My doctor recommended the restaurant as her favorite. We had 3 items from the specials menu. All were above excellent. The flat bread appetizer was Parma ham and burrata. OMG, it must have had some balsamic on it too. The crust was thin and crisp and there was a sweet, savory musky taste, perfect! We also had the two raviolis that were on the specials list. One was Parma ham and parmigiano-reggiano cheese in a cream sauce. The other was a veal Osso bucco in an osso bucco sauce. They were both magnificent. I thanked the server, Rosaria and the chef who is her husband for the wonderful dinner. We will be back.

We have dined throughout Italy from Venice to Palermo and at countless Italian restaurants in the United States. We have not enjoyed better, more creative Italian cuisine anywhere. Whenever we leave, we cannot wait to return.

Great little place. Really well prepared ethnic Italian. On a Wednesday night the place was packed. Do yourself a favor and reserve so you won't be disappointed like some people I had seen at the door there. It was my first time but it will be a lot easier to go back to la violetta than going back to Italy.
