I had no idea that this little gem was downtown Sarasota since 2007 it's super cute inside and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly. I've never had rabbit before and it was delicious. I love the wide variety of rare items that you wouldn't normally see on a menu. The Bison ossobucco was so soft. Well done!

This restaurant closed for renovations in July. We didn't know they weren't still open until the day before when we tried to call and confirm. No one called us and no one cancelled the reservation. I wasn't able to make another reservation due to this pending out there.

They are closed. Didn't bother to let Open Table know. Didn't bother to say so on their voicemail message. 6 of us drove to the restaurant on a Saturday evening to find brown paper across the windows.

We confirmed our reservation and went to the restaurant and it was boarded up. It was closed!! The entire place was a mess as it was being converted into another restaurant that is coming there with a different chef. I was greatly embarrassed as we brought 2 friends to eat there. I am upset with Open Table for this error in not removing this restaurant from your booking list. Please pay closer attention as restaurants come and go putting the customer in a difficult spot.

Delicious, creative food, with eclectic offerings like crispy duck spring rolls and rabbit tacos. Definitely recommend the bruschetta- the focaccia bread they use is made in house and is divine.

Always impressed how good this place is. Just consistently fantastic and our waiter was great! I take my parents here every time they come to visit and I'll continue to do so!

Service was great. It was casual with a nice ambiance. Nice variety of unique choices. Food was very good. Cheeseburger was excellent as well as the Steak. Had the mushroom strudel which was excellent as an appetizer and the baked brie salad. The mushroom strudel was savory and the Brie had a slightly sweet flavor.

Went here for my girlfriends birthday dinner! It's off of Main Street in Sarasota so it's a beautiful, vibrant, and energetic area. We were the only ones there which was pretty cool! Our server, Jamie was welcoming and extremely friendly. She was able to offer us specials and give insight in popular dishes and dishes she recommends. We started with a drink each, which is made from a speakeasy (alchemy/Pangea I believe it's called) next door that is associated with the restaurant. I got something along the lines of an old fashion and my gf got a chai type of drink. Both were pretty good. To start, we were offered an amuse bouche by the chef which was incredible, great start! For food we started with the rabbit tacos and some grilled house made bread. The rabbit tacos were superb and the bread was delicious. For dinner we got the braised short ribs and the duck crepe. The short ribs were tender and flavorful, but a little salty (for me), flavor was on point though. The duck crepe was visually appealing and had solid flavor but could have been a touch warmer and I love the idea of the Brie cheese drizzled on the crepe but for some reason it just didn't work very well for my palate. However, it was still made well and tasted good. Overall, a great experience at MeLange!

We came to celebrate my husband's birthday with our whole family. We mentioned it was for a birthday when we were at the hostess table to the owner. There was no mention from anybody wishing him a happy birthday the whole evening. The portion sizes were incredibly small and the amount that was charged was unsupported. We are used to fine dining. I would not call this fine dining! On top of it all, dogs are allowed to be in the this “fine dining” restaurant. My husband's leg was licked several times by the neighboring dog. Incredibly disappointed and disgusted!

Fantastic meal. Don’t hesitate to order unusual dishes. We got rabbit tacos, duck crepes, vegetarian crepe, wontons, short rib, and great cocktails. Order and share!

Our party of two could write two different reviews. My husband loved it; me not so much. Oddly, the place was deserted on a Friday night at 7 pm. Literally, we were the only diners seated in the place. Our server was, needless to say, attentive. Also helpful, pleasant, and competent. Now the "thumbs down" stuff first. The food was uneven. The best thing I had all night was the complementary amuse-bouche the kitchen sent out -- a fried stuffed wanton that was hot, crunchy, flavorful. I couldn't have a cocktail (medication related) so the server offered me a short menu of "mocktails". I ordered one with three ingredients-- strawberry, lime, and basil. The description neglected to say it also had a heavy dose of simple syrup. Disgustingly sweet and potentially harmful for someone watching sugar intake. I had to ask what else was in it to find out, and then stopped drinking it. She asked if I liked it, I replied "No!" and we all laughed but it was still on the bill. (not expensive, but it's the principle.) My meal was average -- uninspired bruschetta, overcooked salmon -- I had told the server I preferred the fish "undercooked", she said they did it medium rare, but it came mostly well done, and at the thickest part, medium would be kind. It was tasty, just mostly inedible. The green beans were good, the roasted potatoes fine but nothing special. My husband ordered scallop ceviche which he liked although I thought it looked odd, plated horizontally and in much larger pieces than usually seen in ceviche; a mushroom flan that was just added to the menu and he loved it. It was creamy, hot, and rich. Then there was a star of his meal, a special of steak tartare. He said it was better than most he has sampled all over the world! Only problem being, since it was a "special" no guarantee it would be on the menu if we came back for it. A couple more tables were seated when we left two hours later. In all, except for the service, a disappointing, somewhat bizarre experience.

I made a really bad mistake by choosing this place. I was looking for Gluten free options for my wife which they advertise is on their website. The server did not know much about it. My wife's lychee martini did not have any alcohol in it. The server told us they pre batch their drink??? It was really bad. We shared a salad that was good, but the 2 main course were below average. The place had a moldy smell and there were fruit flies flying around. My wife felt sick due to gluten contamination when we got back to the hotel. Steer clear of this place, specially if you have a gluten intolerance.

Fantastic creative food and wonderful attentive waitress. Four of us shared the mushroom strudel, the baked brie salad, the bruschetta, the cheese board and the vegetable gateau and it was all delicious. Will definitely be returning. One of the best meals I've had in a long time.

We arrived at restaurant to find few patrons on a Sunday evening. We were disappointed to find several dishes missing from menu that were on website. Appetizers were tasty and well presented. Main courses were average in taste and appearance. Our server was very helpful through the meal.
