Delightful outdoor lunch today at a picnic table under an umbrella. I LOVED my Portobello Mushroom sandwich with the Mac n’ Cheese and 2 different coleslaws! Reasonably priced. Full bar; music on weekend nights, no cover charge. Plenty of space everywhere; employees all masked. Clean Ladies Room. Will go again!

Alas, no longer. The landlord sold the property and the new owner basically kicked her out. Bar-B-Q will never be the same. She still has a place in Lakewood Ranch, but it isn't really the same.

Extremely frustrated and disappointed with this restaurant. Visiting from out of town and the people I’m staying with recommended Nancy’s. We placed an order at least 24 hrs before we needed it delivered (on super bowl Sunday at 6:30p). Nancy’s confirmed the order the following day at 2:30p and then at 5:30p (1 hour before we were supposed to get the food) Nancy’s canceled our order and said they couldn’t fulfill it anymore. WTH, who does this after confirming and an hour before it was to be delivered. Awful customer service and will never order from them again. I highly recommend you reconsider giving this establishment your business.***UPDATE TO OWNER****Your response is completely inaccurate considering there is no Mr. Olszewski. The order was placed on Saturday and confirmed by the restaurant on Sunday at 2:30p that the order was confirmed to be delivered. Then at 5:30 we received a call saying you had run out of food and that our order would be canceled. The frustrating part was that the order was confirmed and then canceled 1 hour before delivery. This left us with little time to figure out where we could order food from. If you had just told us at 2:30p it wouldn’t be able to be fulfilled that would have been fine. I am not sure who is telling you someone came in, but we never entered your premises. There is a pandemic and we don’t enter restaurants and do everything either delivery or curbside. So you have your facts wrong.

Very disappointed - Sandwich is small / coleslaw (so small) / French Fries are you kidding its a joke / Cornbread nice size but not very good. Don't waste your time - Great location - Over $13.00 for a sandwich. Its like they are doing you a favor. What a poor experience. -

Stopped in after my soccer game on a Sat at 9pm. Owner approached my table explained the menu with a pride you seldom see. Waitress was busy and tired I imagine from a long day but provided awesome service and the food was great. For a minute the world felt normal. Bravo Nancy’s you made my family’s night.

Highly recommend. Had the combo with brisket and ribs. The brisket was so tender, melt in your mouth tender and the ribs easily came off the bone. Kudos to Nancy - she knows bbq!

Had supper there Dec 13th ordered the pulled pork sandwich and potatoes in a cheese sauce, sandwiches came out stone cold not even warm, potatoes were warm and ok but pork sandwiches were horrible. Person handing out the food was wearing gloves but opening the doors to the kitchen then handling the food

I always take a picture of my food before devouring it, but on this day, it smelled too good and I was too hungry, so apologies for the lack of photos. I was staying in a hotel across the street, and this was within walking distance, so I opted to have a late lunch here. Being from Texas, I take my brisket seriously. From the counter, it passed the eye test, so I opted to get a brisket sandwich. The meat was well-seasoned, had a good smoke ring, and was very tender. I also got some greens that hit the spot. The sauce was good but not great. Nonetheless, the meat was the star of the show, so 4 stars. Price was a little higher than what I am used to, but I couldn't tell if they were overpriced, or if it was typical of the area, so won't hold it against them. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area.

The decor- build out of this wonderful heart-of-downtown Sarasota location done so beautifully is a MUST SEE. An awful lot of meticulous care went into it's rustic authentic COMFORTABLE feel- - real tragedy it will be torn down.I had been here years ago thanks to a family trip, and recognized it immediately. You may bring your dog to dine with you on their outdoor porch and great picnic tables gently worn, lovely wood patina from years of use.My other reason for dining is my trip next week for carpel tunnel surgery in yes, Chattanooga, Tennessee! My beloved Mayo Clinic surgeon moved there to Univ of Tennessee, hence I am following him. SO of COURSE I have done hours of research on Yelp and speaking with the local surgical staff of nurses for their recommendations of the VERY BEST local Chattanooga Bar B Que!!! I am SO excited!!! ( Bringing a long duffle suitcase to hold brisket/ full rack of ribs/ banana pudding home made with whipped cream (!!) in a soft cooler). Nancy's ribs were spectacular - - beautiful cut of meat, juicy, dropped off bone easily with a plastic knife, subtle smoke flavor and GREAT bar b que sauces, chipotle or sweet, on each table. Her sauces are VERY good with complex spices, depth, not too harsh tart, a great blending " stewing" of flavors with almost a light fruit after taste. Excellent! If you pour it over your meat, these sauces greatly enhance the experience. The Mac and cheese was wonderful with plenty of rich cheeses- - rare. My only complaint, since all the food is served like Chipotle -- square bins of food dropped into slots on counter, the food is moderately warm. If pipping hot ( temperature wise) I would have given her a 5. The greens had a hint of vinegar which I personally don't care for, and she had beautiful " scalloped like potatoes" filled with cheese and cornbread. I brought my leftovers home and microwaved them a small bit for dinner and it was 100% better. ( butter on greens too).Her Lakewood Ranch location is still open.Enjoy! Hurry there.

I go to Nancy's BBQ occasionally because it may not be perfect, but it is the best BBQ in Sarasota. The ribs are great, roasted and then cooked over the flame. The fat has melted away and the meat is chared perfectly.The Baked Beans are excellent and I often order two portions of them.But the brisket is the bottom cut and is extremely fatty. They should use the top portion instead.It does have a great outdoor dining area.
