My opinion the best Italian food in Sarasota. It’s the third place their in each one bigger and better. Why because great food. Just an Italiano from Chicago say. God bless they work so hard.

I have ordered fried calamari a 1,000 times at all different types of restaurant’s and these were truly the best I have ever had ? The blackened red fish was excellent! At our table there was Italian wedding soup and a pasta Fagiol like I have never seen and both were amazing, lasagna,, rigatoni “yes I tasted everything” Service was excellent and we can’t wait to go back very soon ?

Friendly staff greets you when you walk in the door. Our server was prompt and knowledgeable. The food was phenomenal, you can tell the chef really cares about the recipes. Perfect thin crust pizza. The atmosphere is lovely.

Service is great food is even better. Friendly staff and the food came out in a timely manner. Definitely a must and the ambience along with the food makes for a great time out. I recommend the pasta or one of their pizza options. You will definitely remember your visit to this fine establishment! Oh don’t forget their cheesecake what a way to end a meal.

I was looking for authentic Italian cuisine and I came to the right place! The food did not disappoint! I'm a harsh critic as I've lived in Italy and have eaten some of the finest Italian. If you're looking for delicious, flavor filled Italian food, Pazzo Southside is the spot!

Wanted to try this place pre improv show at FST last Saturday. They do take reservations and we were seated promptly at 5:45 ( eating early since we had the show to make at 7:30). Restaurant was only about 1/3 full. Took about 15 min for our waiter to realize that no one was serving us, but he was very apologetic and was attentive after that. The calamari was a great appetizer- very lightly breaded, tasty and crispy. Marinara for dipping was just spicy enough and yummy. Sliced Italian bread was on the house and was good. I got the eggplant parm with spaghetti. Eggplant was very tasty and made the way I like it- you could tell it was sliced from a casserole of eggplant parm and not just a few slices of eggplant thrown on a plate with some cheese and marinara on it- which passes for the dish at many places around here. It could have been warmer but it was so warm outside that I didn't get it reheated. Husband got the veal "our way" which had prosciutto and cheese and brown gravy topping it. He really like it but I thought it was very salty. He had a potato fritter subbed for the mashed potato- that was kinda disappointing since it wasn't very crispy and seemed like just mashed potatoes that were formed into a patty and fried for a bit. Meh. Waiter brought out 2 mini cannolis to make up for our initial lack of attention, which was a nice touch. They were good. Prices are more reasonable than the Italian places on Main Street. Overall, a pretty solid traditional Italian place.

Excellent pizza, and a very delicious side of spinach. I got the Johnny Mish, and my friend had the Uncle Vic (without broccoli). Photos of all below.

Great NYC Italian restaurant. As a fellow New Yorker it was a pleasant surprise to find this gem. Risotto of the Day was delicious. Nice selection of drinks particularly the "Lemon Ice". Hot sub sandwiches are great too!

Fantastic food and drinks! No matter what you order, everything is made fresh and to order. Vikki and the family do a wonderful job ensuring each and every guest feels like they are at home with their Nona’s cooking. Very exciting specials each and every day!

This was our first meal at Pazzo southside. Was highly recommended by a friend and we could not agree more! The service was top notch, the food was spectacular, The wine list was interesting and very reasonably priced. I’d say that the value was tremendous as well. My wife and I split a small meatball salad and it was as delicious as it was unusual. Will definitely have that again. My wife’s chicken Parmesan was fantastic and she said the tomato sauce was very fresh tasting. Brother-in-law head seafood pasta which was really wonderful and included to his surprise half a lobster tail! Not sure how they can do that for just $28. My chicken scarpariello was astounding! I had them bring me a spoon so I didn’t miss a drop. We shared a bottle of Prisoner which was a pretty reasonable (compare to PA restaurant wine prices) $70. Oh, and the Pazzo pie for dessert and it was an unique and wonderful treat. A new favorite restaurant downtown Sarasota!

We are more than disappointed and upset with our order. We ordered through Uber eats where we could (and did) leave specific notes for two of the dishes we ordered. None of those notes were acknowledged. We had a dairy and gluten allergy with their meal covered in cheese after stating specifically about the allergy and another note on the Milanese which was completely ignored. After spending $80+ on this inedible meal (before tip) we had to write a review warning others. This was my second time trying this place. First time was for lunch and it was ok but I thought since it's local I'd try again. That was the last...it's in your name...you're crazy to order from this place. Many other better options that actually listen to their customers allergy requests. We will be fighting this on Uber eats!
