Great company to have cater your most important events. Chef Stephanie is amazing and her crew is irreplaceable.

Tableside Catering was chosen to cater an event I atttended last Friday evening. Now I know that staffing has been difficult these days but I'm not sure that would explain the chaotic and slow service at this event. The food came out slowly and sporadically and dirty dishes sat on the table for 20 minutes after we were done eating. The "salad" served was very good and well presented. The chicken soup was excellent and some of the best I have ever had. The dessert offered was worth the extensive wait. The real problem was what the chef at Tableside considered an edible chicken entree. My wife and I were served a plate with overcooked vegetables and mushy roasted potatoes and two chicken legs. My wife attempted to cut up and eat the legs since she eats dark meat although prefers thighs over legs. She was hardly able to get any edible meat from the two dryed up legs. I don't enjoy dark meat as much as white but will occasionally eat a thigh. I asked the server for a breast quarter and they came back with a leg and thigh and told me there is no white meat offered. It seems to me that chicken being the least expensive protein, that they could have given us a choice. The entree and waitstaff left us with a very unfavorable impression of Tableside Catering. You can decide for yourself.

Their Thanksgiving menu was amazing. Their menu most unique in town. This has been the most delicious ham, turkey, horseradish cranberry sauce, apple pie!! I will be ordering from them for every holiday. We have leftovers for days and I just wish they were closer to LWR.

We hired Tableseide Catering for my son's wedding and we were blown away by everything they did for us. The staff was friendly and hospitable and they went out of their way to help make my son's big day the amazing event it was. The catering manager, Sury, as well as the onsite manager, Carlos, quickly became like family and went out of their way to make the day perfect. I was impressed by the excellent bar tenders as well. They were both fun, lively and engaging and of course, poured great cocktails for our guests. I was most impressed by the food. The food was outstanding and came out hot and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend Tableseide for any of your catering needs. You will not be disappointed.

I had the lovely opportunity to attend WUSF's 6th annual fundraiser called the Longest Table. The event consisted of tables that span across Bayshore Drive in St. Petersburg, all of which are hosted by a restaurant or catering company that provided multi-course meals. I will only be reviewing the company that hosted our table. Our table showcased the company called Modern Events. Our table and the many other tables had the chance to decorate their tables to their fullest potential. For ours, the decor was somewhat disappointing as my party and others at the same table pointed out that there were some aspects that were poorly planned out. As we arrived, there were wilting bouquets of flowers that had to be removed because they were dying in the sun. The table was aligned across with tall silver candelabras with candles that were obviously just for show because as the sunset our tables had no light and there were no intentions of lighting them. Individuals at the table took the initiative to light the candles themselves but with no luck because of the wind and made do with improvised champagne flute candleholders. Without that, we would have sat in darkness. Our service was lackluster and it was obvious that the servers were not happy to be there. The lady which sat across from me requested a wine that came with one of the meals to be replaced with another and the server more or less blatantly said no unapologetically. My chair, which was a folding chair, was broken and I replaced the chair with the chair next to me which luckily was empty. I informed the waiter of the broken chair in case there was someone that would be arriving later and she said that she will replace it but she never did. Luckily, the seat sat empty. For our meals, I could tell a more positive story - I enjoyed every course. Modern Events offered 4 courses: Appetizer, salad, main and dessert - each with a beverage. For appetizer, we had Okinawan Kobe Makizushi. Basically, a sushi roll with snow crab in the center with a thin strip of seared beef on the outside. There wasn't anything too differentiating between this Kobe beef and any other beef I've had so it wasn't life changing for me but it was tasty. Second course was an Artisan Romaine Wedge - tasty and substantial but pretty much an ordinary tasting salad. But here comes the main course! Sriracha Whiskey Braised Short Ribs. Boneless ribs of yum! Fork-tender, moist and flavorful! I couldn't really taste the Sriracha and it wasn't spicy at all but it was good. There wasn't much coconut "foam" when I received my dish - it turned into liquid before it reached the table. Final course - Oh gosh, I'm super full but I shall endure! Chocolate Rasberry Cake. It was very good! Standard dessert - nothing spectacular but it was yummy. For each wine, I'm not going to even pretend I know much about wines but I enjoyed them. All in all, a catering service that doesn't think ahead is a disaster waiting to happen - Imagine if they catered your wedding and didn't have lights! But, please do give me the name of your chefs because they delivered!

From start to finish the Modern Events Catering staff was attentive and accommodating. We wanted a mostly vegatarian focused menu and they created an out-of-this-world menu for our visiting friends and family to enjoy. Planning a destination wedding is quite a challenge and finding a partner like Modern Events was truly a lifesaver. Sury was phenomenal every step of the way and Chef Yoder impresses is over and over again with every bite. Kudos to the Modern Events Team for helping us make our friends and family feel at home with us through your food. Bravo!

We can’t say enough about Ryan Hill and Modern Events! Ryan and his staff recently catered our daughter’s wedding in Sarasota and the entire experience, from the early planning stages to the reception itself, was simply outstanding. Ryan offers expert advice and is willing to work with the client to create a delicious menu and a beautiful setting for the perfect wedding. Our guests raved about the food; the chef produces dishes from appetizers to main course to desserts that go far and beyond the typical “wedding food”. The presentation and service throughout the evening was fabulous as well. We are most grateful to Ryan and Modern Events for providing the very best wedding reception we could have imagined!
