We just returned from staying one night at this location. Overall it was a very positive experience. Pros: Very clean; especially the areas that they have recently renovated. Our room on the fourth floor had brand new carpeting and some new furniture. Fair price. They only charged $50 for our dog (most hotels are $75-$100). Location a couple of miles from downtown and the airport. Cons: If you don't pre-purchase the breakfast (was $10 on top of the base room fee for 2 people) it is $16.95 per person. Great deal at $5 but not at $16.95. The toilet in the room "screamed" every time you flushed it. Overall. We would certainly stay at this location again if in the ares; especially if we have the dog along with us.

Another long-in-the-tooth Hilton property suffering from differed maintenance. The staff was very friendly, housekeeping was professional, and bar food and staff were excellent. Where this property suffers is from neglect and mold and mildew. I do not have the most sensitive sniffer, but it knocked me over. It was very strong in the lobby and elevator lobby. Room ceiling had heavy evidence of water damage. Bathroom had layers of caulking to hide mold and mildew. One door card reader did not work. I fear the renovation is just going to be lipstick on a pig. The owner of this hotel needs to spend some serious $$$ and bring it up to Hilton standards. Until the renovations are complete, I would avoid, and that is coming from a Diamond member.

The hotel was accommodating to our needs and expectations. Ashely and the bar staff helped us in recommendations around the area. We were surprised with a welcome 20 year Anniversary card while enjoying the nice room suite. There is a nice outdoor pool and bar/restaurant within the hotel. It really has everything anyone could need for a nice weekend stay. I would stay here again if the opportunity arrises.

Never have we been so happy to leave a hotel! Where to complain about animal vermin in a Florida hotel room? - Manatee County Health Dept. - Googled during a long first night at this "Hilton." Yes, we repeatedly heard an animal scuffling around during the night. Get up, look around, check under the bed and behind furniture; never did see the critter. Yet he was there, apparently behind the wall, scraping and scuffling around. Eventually, I did sleep, but not my wife. From the concern showed by the hotel, the critter is probably still there? "No worries" for them. A theme? When we reported the events to the desk in the morning, we got only uncomprehending looks and no apparent concern. I suggested that we move to a different room, thank you. Oh, and "the Manager, Catlin Naser will call you." We stayed at this same hotel three years back and had a good experience. In 2023, it seems tired and worn down. We should have checked other recent reviews, they are right. "Don't stay here." Owner Island Hotels and managers have obviously cut corners and reduced maintenance, sacrificing the guest experience. We smelled mold in the halls on two floors; on several floors, the hallways have large areas of wallpaper that have fallen down - no worries, they used thumbtacks to kind of stick it back up. Most of the ripples are smoothed out. Kind of sorta looks OK - if you don't mind half-measures. Which must be the theme of this hotel owner/Management. The 2nd floor stairwell exit fire door did not close fully. A safety hazard and violation of Fire Code. No concern of management. Apparent water damaged wall in our room was touch up painted a brown color, which did not match the rest of the wall - good enough for management. One of our towels had brown stain on it. Ewww! - Ok, it happens. We got a replacement. Water level in toilet bowls is far too high. Wasting water and increasing splash-back. Ewww! In our second room, the closet door was firmly stuck closed. Eventually I did pry it open. Our "living room" TV stopped working, moments before the start of the Kentucky Derby! The poor man they sent to try and fix the problem had little training and no idea of the "code" wanted by the TV, nor how to work through TV software. Why train employees when warm bodies are good enough? All these items demonstrate uncaring lack of inspection by management and lack of maintenance. One employee said, "they cut our work hours back." It shows. We noted that even the swim pool shower has a continuous water leak going 24 hours. Wasting lots of water and demonstrating lack of inspection and maintenance. Then there are the pool pump enclosure boxes unlocked - a safety hazard for kids, and OSHA violation. "We will be going into a big renovation in a few months." Said another employee. Perhaps that explains a bit. Hilton and Island Hotels Management have made a conscious decision to sacrifice the customer experience to save money. This shows in many ways. A desk clerk said we received some points; well thank you. The points and another $130 will maybe get us a room some night. Please don't think a few points make up for the poor experience. Oh, "the Manager will call you." We heard this repeated 3 times, yet never did happen. Successfully demonstrating the concern of Island Hotel management for the guest experience.

This hotel has charged me twice for the same food. Now I’ll have to dispute it with my credit card company. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Bed and pillows smells like mold. Shower was so week it took me 25 minutes to shower. Tv didn’t work -had to call maintenance. Nasty floors.

The staff upon check-in and checkout was extremely friendly, accommodating, and welcoming but the property needs an upgrade. Cockroaches were in my room! I understand they’re normal in Florida but I don’t believe they should be in the room where I am sleeping as well as the Sugar Ants on the nightstands too.

The hotel location was the best and only real positive thing at this hotel. It needs to be upgraded from lobby to rooms. During my stay a group was their with several youth, staff stood at desk and allowed the group to be extremely loud, kids to run and race all throughout the restaurant, lobby & rooming areas. Staff at desk & restaurant staff stood in eye site where guests placed a large dog up on the dining table were guests were seated to eat dinner.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out were both quick and efficient. Lobby was clean and modern. Hotel room itself was decent for a short stay but the bathroom could use some attention. The plug in the bathroom did not work and there were rust stains in several places (in the tub near the drain, on the trim near the floor). Decent place to stay if you need to be near the aiport.

I stayed in this hotel last weekend. My toilet bowl had feces on the front of it. Someone did come to clean it. I should’ve checked the rest of the bathroom because when I got in the shower, there was stains in it that were not from rust. I’m not sure exactly what it was but it was definitely not clean. When I went to get in bed, there was a clump of hair in my bedspread. My son stayed in another room, and his sheets were stained and dirty like they had not been changed. Do not recommend this hotel. The staff was very nice but Management never got back with me. Every time I went to go speak to somebody in management they were not available. Very disheartening especially for a Hilton property.

My family and I are on the 2nd floor directly above a very loud party in the first floor meeting room. Very loud bass that is vibrating our room. Front desk told me it is planned to go until midnight. Had I known this we would not have stayed here. The hotel is not setup to handle a party in the meeting room and not offend several of the rooms on the first and second floors. And while I'm at it, the first day we arrived the shower handle was stripped and could not be turned off until a repairman replaced the handle. Not a good experience. Hilton is usually pretty good but I'd avoid this one given this very disappointing situation my family and I are forced to endure.

The hotel was clean, the lobby was inviting, and the room was exactly what I expected for the price. It is an older hotel, and it could use some upgrades, but I was very happy with this place considering how affordable the room was. The reason I left 4 stars instead of 3 is because of the staff. Absolutely top notch. I had major issues with the third party app that I booked the room through. They lost my reservation. Paula at the front desk was an absolute rock star. She was understanding, patient and helpful; even though the issue wasn't the hotel's fault. I was happy when I checked out. Also, the restaurant at the hotel was great. I will absolutely stay here again.

This is an old hotel. They could care less if you stay there or not. The staff is at best prickly and rude. One of the desk people simply told me if I did not like it then I should just get out. I was at first stunned but I realized they are so busy by virtue of their location they will fill the rooms whether we stay there or not. But like I said the rooms appear old, rusty doors, filthy dirty doors, old sheets, beds and pillows. Cracks in the walls Rhe Faucets are leaky and bathrooms are filthy.

Horrible place. When we got there on Oct 11th a guest was complaining about his room how the toilet doesn't work etc. I stood there about 10 minutes before they acknowledged me. Rooms are not clean. Towels are about 100 years old and smelly. Customer service is terrible. I am glad I only stayed there 2 nights.
