Best sushi I've had in a while. Service was great and catered to our pace. Started with the lobster and crab rangoons. HOLY MOLY. If that is up your alley, please order. After talking with our server, he mentioned that it is one of their employees' only jobs, and I can definitely tell it is made with love. Best rangoons I've had. As far as sushi goes... mango definitely goes on sushi! Also appreciated the presentation with the orchid on top. I enjoyed this meal so much, left feeling full and happy!!

Went for sushi but I don’t think this is a go to sushi joint so it didn’t wow me- options were just okay. Service was good.

While the food at Tsunami is usually delicious, the latest experience with the manager Dino was nothing short of verbally abusive. We tried to place a carry-out order for which Dino could not get right because he was not listening. After literally 7 attempts, and us having to correct the errors each time (the last of which we pointed out he was not charging us enough), he still got it wrong. We insisted he was not listening to us and he became verbally aggressive, stated he was not going to fill our order, and abruptly hung up on us. We drove to the restaurant, which we frequent weekly to sort this out and Dino once again stated we were not welcome in the restaurant, stated “the customer is not always right,” and aggressively told us to leave. Clearly Dino is not used to being held accountable for his demeanor and lack of listening, and his unprofessional and abrasive manner, demonstrated in front of staff and other patrons is unacceptable on many levels. Dino should not be in the hospitality industry and his behavior should NEVER be tolerated. Our loyal patronage will be welcomed elsewhere.

I had the worst experience tonight I was chocking on hard piece of Sashimi and 6 sushi chefs never noticed. I grabbed all the napkins and vomited and still no one noticed. Offered for them to bring it to the homeless. They said they would take it bake to the kitchen. YUK!!! Still not breathing properly and they just offered me hot water. Didn't even offer to pay for a ride back to the hotel. Bill was immediately presented $88.00 and change No apologies no comment Never again

Asked for extra eel sauce, did not get any eel sauce in bag. Megacrunch roll is not described anywhere yet you can order it. It is a VEGETARIAN ROLL. Very misleading. Would not recommend this place.Edit: forgot to mention rolls were very underwhelming for the price and much lower quality than other sushi joints in the area.

The only place we eat sushi in Sarasota. Excellent quality fish, ginger and wasabi. Good sake selection. Love the people and the lunch specials are unbeatable in price.

Great variety of specialty rolls etc.. excellent dishes as well!! Prices actually somewhat reasonable for the upscale classy atmosphere. Don't bother calling for red they almost never answer and there's a line to get in most times. 7-days 430 -10. Good size place so prob get in if go early or after 8.

I came here for a quick sushi lunch and was extremely impressed with the food and service. The outdoor tables provided a nice ambiance right in downtown Sarasota. I ordered the sushi lunch special, which came with two rolls of sushi, salad, and miso soup. The miso soup was standard, and the salad had a lovely ginger dressing. The spicy tuna roll was out of this world. I've had many spicy tuna rolls, and this one had an amazing flavor and an unexpected crunch. Must try! The Philadelphia roll was good too, and had avocado in it, which was a plus. The server was very friendly and service was fairly quick. I would definitely return for lunch.

Absolutely my favorite sushi place in Sarasota/Bradenton area! Me and my bf casually found this gem one afternoon after having drinks nearby. The service each time is exceptional, the sushi rolls are amazing and of great size. They have a premium sake flight which is perfect when you aren't sure what you might enjoy! Their appetizers are also excellent, we have tried the edamame, and gyoza both so delicious. For dessert we love the fried ice cream! The establishment isn't too big but decent size, outdoor seating is also available, they do take reservations, however this past valentines they did not but we were still able to get a table around 6pm. The restrooms are always clean and someone is always walking around refilling your water which is always great. The ambiance is nice for a date, celebration or just a casual dinner. We usually come here for our anniversary, birthday, or a romantic date night. We already can't wait to come back soon enough!

I placed a takeout order 2/6 and they forgot to include items in my order including my sushi deluxe platter. I was told I would it was packaging error from the hostess and that I would get a refund and would be placed on their “comp” list. Neither happened when I called back. The person on the phone was extremely rude. They didn’t process a refund either. Paid $35 for sushi I never received. Manager Jeffrey and GM Jason. Avoid. Zero stars.

Tsunami was our favorite restaurant of all to go to and we have been going there for over 5 years every Friday night. We are disappointed to learn they will no longer be taking reservations for parties under 6 people. The food is fantastic and the staff is suberb but the no reservations policy means we will be sadly looking for a new Sushi place. So sorry you have decided to do this. We wish you the best. My first time to this location, service was absolutely terrible. As I walked in to ask to be seated I was informed that it was a 20-30 min wait, which is no problem. But in the process of trying to get my name to be seated the manger cuts me off to talk with someone els. After 4-5 min there are now 2 manger speaking with one person, while I’m still being ignored and not able to put my name in. After multiple attempts to put my name in another couple walks up and is help immediately, and then sat immediately. No excuse for this typeOf treatment. Except for poor management, my family and I will never eat at this location, I recommend you do the same.
