Great coffee...nice to sit outdoors and watch the downtown Siesta Key life go by. And free parking in the lot!

My husband and I came here one morning during our vacation to Siesta Key and had the weirdest experience. On the menu it says they make all of their coffee syrups in house, which I thought was really unique. I’m a big maple fan so ordered a cold brew with maple-flavored syrup. Before ordering, I clarified with the lady working the cash register that it was maple-flavored coffee syrup and not straight up maple syrup, and she said yes, commenting on how they make their syrups in-house. I was watching the guy making the coffee and he pulled out a jug of Costco maple syrup and poured a large amount into the cup. He then handed it to me to self-serve my coffee. I politely said that I didn’t realize it was actual maple syrup and asked for vanilla instead. He said “well did you even try the maple?” and insisted it was organic - he kept chanting “the tree made it!” Not wanting to prolong the conversation, I just told him that I just knew I wouldn’t like it and again asked for vanilla. He clearly had an attitude and acted as if I inconvenienced his whole day when he was making me a new cup of ice with vanilla syrup. Very odd experience - would never go back. The vanilla syrup didn’t even taste like anything.

Love this little coffee shop! Great location off the main strip. The strip mall has a parking lot, and there are tables outside to enjoy some fresh air. We were thrilled to find that they are dog friendly and gave us a treat! The coffee was great and I loved the coconut flavoring!

I would rather eat glyphosate straight up than return and here’s why - first I’ll say that consuming organic is important to us. However, on our very first day in Siesta Key we visited Mojo Coffee and the market where we met a nice gentleman who suggested the Bean for breakfast. Homemade English muffins, rolls, etc all made with organic ingredients. Totally up our alley. Upon entering with our unmarked Mojo cups one man said snidely just loud enough for us to hear “how are those coffees ??” We explained the situation and he said at the same decibel “sorry ?”. The other man behind the counter seemed as though I was requesting his spare kidney when I had a minor question about the menu. They both were rude and we will not return. They made us feel like taking our hard earned cash was an inconvenience to his pretentious lives. I’d suggest the Bonjour French Cafe. Incredible and they were nice… it’s not hard to be nice while taking money.

Walked in thinking it was a cute coffee shop and was greeted with rudeness. We were taking our time reading the chalk board when the barrista said “our menus are down there, conveniently located by the cash register.” We decided to walk out as we didn’t appreciate the rudeness. Menu looked awesome would have loved to try it.

The original Local Coffee +Tea, that evolved to different names and owners and now Bean Coffee House.I've become an irregular/regular customer on some mornings, after grinding, brewing and drinking my usual eight cups of hot black Organic Italian Dark Roast, I need more dark black coffee on my way to our Siesta Key vacation rentals and have never been disappointed or treated rudely by owner Zach or others who work with Zach including his partner Mary who passed away when arriving at the Bean last week.Though negative reviews are realities of experiences that occurred. Zach loss of an excellent life partner and business Key employee bring a sad reality of life and death that causes required changes and personal adjustments dictated by events that occur unplanned in our daily lives.Though I'll never see or be served by Mary, my future visits will become more regular and my appreciation for Zach and his coffee shop will continue and my belief is that Zach will get through this tragic loss and use The Coffee Bean to display all of the good that Mary and others brought to my morning coffee habit as I, others and certainly Zach mourn the loss of Mary.Parking: Large parking lot for multiple businesses.
