We stumbled upon Aunt Kate's on a family roadtrip and absolutely loved it! The location was perfect - my kids could play at the beach and the edge of the water while my husband and I could sit at the restaurant. The food was fantastic and even though it was busier the service was great.

Great view on the river, dog friendly at picnic tables! Husband loved flounder sandwich and mac and cheese. Crab cakes were ok, not too impressed. Key lime pie was fantastic! Great place to see sunset!

Average food, the fish added to my salad was dry enough to be yesterdays; expensive drinks, great staff and nice location

We’ve stayed in Vilano Beach before but we never managed to get to Aunt Kate’s. This time around, we managed to dine in on Easter Sunday.Coming at around 7 PM, they were decently busy and there was a bit of a wait but not terribly long. The outdoor patio is very cool and our waitress was super friendly.I got the fresh catch sandwich with fries as my entree. I honestly was not that impressed. The fries were pretty great but I received probably the saddest looking piece of fish I’ve ever seen on a sandwich. Their fresh catch was sheep’s head and while it tasted good, the portion size was too small and it wasn’t very crispy.Overall, this was still a decent experience. I might try something else on the menu next time.

I has been a long period since we visited this area (the older eatery)... still a great view for dining. Kate's place is FINE, good meals, and the datil sauce is great and sold there, too.
