Awesome dive bar, great wings (seriously... Great wings). Service sometimes on the slow side, tables perpetually/always... sticky... Not dirty... Just....... Sticky/tacky lol but the wings are worth it (they're that good). Get the fried green tomatoes as well.

I'm from NY and I have eaten at the Candlelight in Westchester NY. I have mo ed down to Jacksonville FL and I can't wait to visit your
Football Sunday. Pretzel and wings were so good. Wings were saucy and large. Bavarian pretzel was dark crispy and awesome. Did not feel rushed forced to turn over table. We had 2 empty seats we just invited 2 strangers to join us as there was no available tables when they arrived and use the seats. It was fun.

I should have known when I picked up the first (and only one I touched) onion ring because it was very heavy. Just a greasy disaster, check out the close up pic as they sat in the basket, grease just pooled on the paper. We didn't eat them. Wings not much better, hot was barely spicy. Service by Liz okay on a very busy night though she should have noticed that we didn't eat most of the food. We left two of five wings and all but one onion ring . Guy sat us in the far corner even though he knew we were there for the game. Had to look straight up to see the TV. Others who came in after us got better seats even though I asked him to move us when a better table became available. Don't bother, their food alone is enough not to return. There are better places.

A nice place to get a good meal and even a beverage. We ate here twice during our St. Augustine visit and both times our meals were delicious. Service was excellent as well.

Came here for dinner during a brief visit to St. Augustine. It was conveniently just down the street from my hotel and I didn’t want to deal with parking in downtown just for a quick casual dinner after a long day’s drive from the Tampa area.The place was busy and noisy - what one would expect from a sports bar almost any evening. I’m not into “bar food” and neither was my guest. After a short wait I ordered the shrimp dinner (grilled, with tator tots and a cup of chili) and my guest ordered the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla with fries.The meal came out expeditiously enough. The tator tots were plentiful and top notch but the chili was horrendous. It had no flavor and the meat had been so thoroughly worked over that it was just tiny pieces akin to mince meat rather than somewhat meaty chunks. The shrimp was grilled well but not at all seasoned.My partner’s quesadilla was also sub-par and he’s a big quesadilla fan. I have never seen him not finish one but he barely ate half of this one. The bacon was small hard pieces Ike what you get out of a commercial bacon bits jar and the wrong cheeses were used. It was over-powering like sharp cheddar rather than a creamy, milder Mexican cheese or a Monterey Jack.Also, the sauces seem to be made in house. My cocktail sauce had no kick which means it had little to no horseradish in it as all cocktail sauces should have. My partner’s salsa (for the chips) was watery and flavorless. Neither of us are into hot sauce or spicy food but both of these traditional sauces should have had a little bite to them and more flavor.The service was friendly but inattentive. I don’t know if our server had too many tables to deal with or is just not a good server but our water/soda glasses went unfilled until the end of the meal and two requests for additional artificial sweeteners also went ignored after being acknowledged - thus she heard the request but forgot, much like she did for the refills.My single experience was not good so I won’t be returning. The fact that it was busy must mean that it has something going for it but I suspect it’s the beer and maybe wings and sandwiches. Can’t speak to those things but I’d stay away from anything resembling a “meal”.

As a party of 4, we had a horrible experience. It took twenty minutes to get our drink order in. Then another 30 to get our appetizers (mozzarella sticks & cheese fries). Once we ordered our meals, it probably took another 30 minutes for those to come out. The burger was awful. It was dry and the lettuce was brown and rotting. There was no dip with the french dip sandwich and when we asked for the dip, we got a styrofoam cup of plain beef broth. Once we finished eating, we had to chase the waitress down to get our bill. I think we ended up spending two hours at this place and it wasn't even that busy.. Horrible experience.
