We had a dozen oysters, two cioppino's, and the hanger steak. Apple pie a la mode and a bottle of wine. The four of us loved every bite and had leftovers. The steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The acoustics are tough in the dining room and it gets loud but the food is the star here. Dylan was our server, he knew the menu well and was attentive.Parking: Unpaved but plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Not a great place for the kids.

This place is awesome, the food and our server (Trevor) were exceptional! We will definitely being adding it to the top on our favorite list on our visits to St Augustine Beach restaurants.

The food is excellent. The service runs hot and cold. Don't piss off the woman who is the manager. She's a pit bull. We won't be back because of her. Too bad, we really liked going there.

Second year driving past, and decided to try it out. We entered and was promptly asked how many. Two people and was told to sit at any table even if they were set for four. We sat and waited ten to fifteen minutes and none of the staff even spoke to us. Both tables next to us, and other patrons who went out to patio were being served. We got up and while leaving I spoke to an employee and told her why we were leaving. She did apologize. When we returned home, after we found an Italian restaurant way up the street which we had great service and food. I called the Elkhouse and asked to speak to a manager. The server Tony answered the call, and I asked for the manager who he said was busy, ask while I was calling to file a complaint. I could hear him talking to the manager, who got on the phone , never identified who she was by name or position. After I asked she told me she was the manager. She says she was the person whom I spoke to on our way out. She apologized again. She said she spoke to the staff. It’s not a very big restaurant, so I cannot see how we could have been overlooked. Not sure if we will give it another try

Ate there several weeks ago. VERY small onside, I counted 11 tables all very close together plus a screened in pourch type area. Bar sat about a dozen. My husband had the pork chop, very tough. Charcuterie board very good. I had the chicken, salty. Wanted the wild boar & Buffalo meatballs, no longer carrying them. Waitress was great!! I don't see what all the fuss is about this place. We drove down from Orange Park. Won't be returning.

Aggressive locals try to control the first come first serve line... food not worth that fight in my opinion

The food is absolutely phenomenal. We got the Elk tips appetizer, the oysters- baked, and their salad with blue cheese dressing. The portions were beyond substantial. We were so thrilled with how fresh everything tasted. The ambience is pretty cool. It's like an upgraded old cottage which we absolutely adored. The service was good. The wine list is a little limited, but we had already had enough glasses of wine anyway, and our focus was the food. Looking forward to trying other dishes in this menu as there were several things that I wanted to try.

Food was exceptional! Server was attentive and very helpful! Indoor seating was full so it was quite loud! We will go back to try some other dishes!

My family and I went here on a busy Friday night but that didn't stop the wait staff from being patient and spending time making sure we enjoyed our time there. They were all charming and kind, even those that weren't our direct waiters stopped and asked how we were doing. Most importantly, the food was incredible. We had a variety of apps and entrees and each one tasted as good or better than most restaurants I've been to. The elk filet in particular is better than any filet mignon I've ever had before, and all the seafood dishes were cooked perfectly. Which, to get correctly in the cioppino my dad had is no easy task since the mussels, shrimp, scallops and oysters all have different cook times.Overall we had a wonderful experience and if I am ever in the area again I will absolutely be coming back here.Vegetarian options: A good handful of optionsDietary restrictions: Pescitarians, keto, low carb, vegetarianWheelchair accessibility: Ramp around the back of the restaurant
