Found this restaurant several years ago and has never disappointed us. Great service provided by friendly professionals. Excellent menu selections. And we don't have to cross the bridge.

Menu is limited. Waitstaff couldn't remember to wait on us. My steak was supposed to be Medium Well (warm pink center) came out BLOOD red. Friend asked for desert and she forgot to bring it. Just seemed there was too little of a waitstaff for the amount of people and tables seated. Nice person, just seemed overwhelmed. Definitely very pricing for the quantity of food.

6pm reservation with my husband and daughter on Tuesday. Nice fine dining ambiance and attentive staff. I had the Chilean bass, daughter had salmon and husband had the lamb meal. We had a bottle of wonderful Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand called Yealand. Great wine that was so refreshing and great finish of taste. All meals were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. My daughter and I shared the vanilla kiss cake that was very light but scrumptious. The portions were good and our plates were completely finished because they were very tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant and it is off the beaten busy path of St. Augustine. You can even go for a walk on the beach if wish by walking to beach access close by. You won't regret it!!!

Very good service our server was excellent! The ceviche was excellent and fresh, lobster bisque was delicious and the hot homemade bread and butter was amazing! My beet salad ? was also great, just a little heavy on the dressing...Overall excellent and will come again to try other dishes, Ty

My husband and I went with reservations on a Saturday night. The service and food was outstanding. He started with the lobster bisque and I went with the pear salad. We were both pleased with our choices and shared them with each other. My husband had the filet mignon in a mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and carrots. I had the New Zealand lamb chops. Both dinners were excellent. Cooked as we ordered, seasoned by the skilled chef and served by our attentive server. We will return again.

Entrées were amazing. Wine was excellent. Service was very good. If I had one complaint, it would be that the chairs we sat in were rather uncomfortable and dated, the noise level was very high while we were there. Regardless of those small complaints the food quality and taste is what it's all about and Chef Norberto does an amazing job!

Recently we dined at La Cocina for "date night" and had the pleasure of having Jorge as our waiter. On Thursday the restaurant allows you to bring a "special" bottle of wine with no corkage fee. We brought one of our recent California Cab from our trip to Napa. Our appetizers consisted of a cup of lobster bisque and ceviche (shrimp and salmon tossed with red onions, peppers, cilantro, fresh garlic, ginger avocado puree and toasted ciabatta). Our entrees were Peri Peri chicken (organic skin on chicken breast, over cilantro cream, roasted potatoes and carrots) and filet mignon (8 oz. filet grilled to perfection, with wild mushroom cream sauce, carrots and mashed potatoes). For dessert we split chocolate marquise and coffee. Note: The restaurant provides a 3.5% discount off the total sale amount for paying with cash.

Food was well prepared but could have been a little more flavorful. Had the tortellini and it was tasty but could have been better. Just needed something. Service was excellent. Would go back but would try something different. Lamb chops looked good.

We have eaten at La Covina Restaurant numerous times over the years. We have never been disappointed. My husband and I both ordered rack of lamb. It's always delicious. Our friends both ordered Salmon and were very pleased. We ordered different wines and each person was happy with their wine. Service was good as usual. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. There was a table that was noisy and after they left it was lovely.

We enjoyed the food. The half-rack of lamb was excellent, the tortellini good but not great. The carpaccio was superb. Our waitress, Katerina, was very professional, watching the pace of dinner without being obtrusive. We will dine there again.

We had the rack of Lamb, and the lamb was phenomenal, but the whipped potatoes were inedible because of the over salting. The potatoes should have never left the kitchen on 2/16 without being tasted first. The Pear Salad was also phenomenal. Our server did not introduce herself, so we asked what her name was. Gina was okay, but waited 10+ minutes for wine. Her heart wasn't in it, but you never know what someone has going on in their lives. Their wine list is nice.

La Cocina catered our wedding and it was fantastic! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing it was! The food tasted exactly like the food we had during our tasting. The Hors d'oeuvres were perfect, the bread was fresh and presented to each table fresh and still warm from the oven, the pear salad was refreshing and delicious, the steak was so tender and flavorful and the fish was perfect! Some of our guest don't eat fish, but they ate it all thanks to La Cocina! You guys did not disappoint!!!!Highly recommend for any of your catering needs! 10/10!!!
