This bar is part of the Mari Jean hotel it is on the first floor and has some event every night, which is pretty great. I got to see Bingo and Karaoke. I ordered gaysodilla with chicken, and it was really good. Maybe a tiny bit overpriced for the portion, but it was good. I felt welcome and had a good time. While the rules are no smoking or vaping in the door, I saw this happening, and no one addressed it. Even another customer sitting next to me commented on this. Also, the smell of weed lingered through the outdoor bar inside. So that hurt the atmosphere and experience a little for me as I really can't stand that smell. Also while I was there a couple got in a fist fight, however the staff handled it well and got them separated and out of the bar but it was scary for a minute as the one guy looked very intoxicated and unpredictable. Even though this stuff happened, I would still say the bar was a beautiful, great theme that works with the hotel and is very clean and super convenient to anyone staying in the hotel. The only thing I thought was strange was the 1 person bathrooms for a bar. I feel you should have a large bathroom for multiple people. Other than that, I recommend checking out this fun friendly bar. Great parking right outside, too. Drinks are nice and no matter how busy it is I never have to wait more than a few minutes for a drink. Always excellent service. Haven’t had the chance to order food but it is definitely on my list to try the next time I’m in town.

My one issue is that I believe they should hire exclusively LGBTQ djs. The younger straight blonde guy is really persistent when hitting on women & doesn’t take no for an answer. He was harassing a woman we came with after she innocently asked if he takes requests. Every time she would go to the bathroom he’d be waiting in the hall for her, at the end he even tried pulling her into a secluded hallway, all while she’s saying “I’m sorry, no thank you.” Of course the ONE straight man in the building ruins the experience for us.

Love love love this bar. But the times that they run out of wells tequila is concerning.Say what you want, but if I am getting a mixed drink, I prefer wells. (doesn’t taste different to me)If you as an establishment run out of wells, the next tequilla up, should be the wells for the time being. Honestly, it sounds like a scheme to get people to pay for higher grade. I ONLY say this because I was told there is not wells, I said okay well I’ll just have a water, and then five minutes later the manager walked up with a bottle of wells … interesting. However, love the atmosphere, the servers, and the drinks.

I've never been to this bar, not even once, but I can tell simply from meeting the owners (at the hotel) and looking at their prices for hotel rooms, cocktails, pool passes, this is an extremely elitist establishment that unironically masquerades as an LGBTQIAXYZ± Safe Space™.Now normally I wouldn't ever leave a poor review of a businesses I've never been to, but reading these reviews, and seeing the manner in which the owners handle critical and negative feedback — so incredibly tacky. Even if some of the bad reviews are not justified, (if you're not a USA cititizen I'm sorry but you do in fact need your passport, any other ID or DL from other countries are not recognized by the liquor board) they still need to be addressed diplomatically and professionally, rather than clapping back at them because they're wrong.So it's because of their tasteless handling of negative feedback I'm leaving this review. I have never been to Cocktail, and likely never will. As of writing this, I currently reside just a block away behind the place and still have no desire to go. That should speak volumes.Do better.

Apparently the bar tenders can't keep track. Lady at night on Saturday with glasses tripped on me cause my husband walked away after paying 10 dollars in cash saying I owed her 10 dollars.. paid with my card no tip since I guess she pocketed my 10 bucks.
Cute place, nice pool bar. Over priced drinks. $9.00 tiny cab wine in plastic cup.

I've been reading the reviews about security and it's all true. You would think you were going into Studio 54 to have security with such bad attitudes for no reason. The female one especially. I live in Fort Lauderdale and some of our bars have security too, minus the attitude. Typically it all starts from management.

It was nice weather, so I scootered up to watch superbowl half time there.Sound was inadequate. While waiting, they had an ok but distant DJ playing tunes poolside.I got the usual extremely slow service at the bar. Management doesn't teach their staff they can make more money as an establishment and more tips if you move more quickly.Instead they charge double for one drink (same as a 2 drink minimum) and give you a chip. Bartenders likely get stiffed on the second drink tip because there is no money exchanged.Small crowd, almost empty inside, and 1/4 full outside.Other than the big screen whuch was not being watched with the game silent and halftime with poor sound, there was no activity to draw an enthusiastic crowd. Even cheapskate Flamingo had more energy and interaction among people.

This bar has a lot going for it.....as long as you are under the age you of 50. The bartenders are full of attitude and will barely speak to you unless you are twentysomething and cute. Our bartender literally walked over to us and gave the nonverbal "what?" head nod for our order. The cute young couple after us received a warm smile and engaging service. I don't come to a gay bar to be validated ( I'm married ) but great service should have no bias, especially if you are working for tips. If you want to feel invisible and marginalized this is your bar. Really a shame because everything else about the space is amazing and has so much potential.
