Reservation system is horrible or lack of. They are listed on opentable for reservations and there are never any. I’ve emailed them for reservations and never get a response. I’ve called and phone is busy. I’ve walked up to hostess and she was very rude. I will not make any more attempts at this place.

Sophias is one of a kind! I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this hotspot on Central. Sophias offers a weekly special every week. The prices are doors than reasonable and the food is impeccable. At Sophias, you enter as a stranger and you leave as family.

Not my 5 because things can change ! I just love Sophia's . However, tonight was extra special . I needed a relax time and good food and guess what, Spencer, my amazing bartender from my old town In Vicinity made my night ! I just enjoy my meal and my drink with Limoncello and Prosecco yum !

This is my new favorite restaurant in the area! The prices are surprisingly super reasonable and totally worth it for the taste and presentation of each plate.. the restaurant is very nice and the people working are so helpful and friendly! The chef, Alexander actually came out and made some suggestions that would fit our preferences which was super nice! Our server Vlad was very accommodating.. he brought us out samples to try when buying bottle of wine which were only $30 a bottle. Alex (Dave) made our desserts which were great! We loved everything ! I would highly recommend this restaurant, such a wonderful experience :)

Previous review was a severe under statement- the food is fantastic with rustic flavors and authentic taste and Spencer behind the bar was knowledgeable, honest, and last but NOT LEAST, a damn good bartender. I’ve been coming for over a year and it never disappoints. The whole staff is amazing but kudos to Spencer for making a great night even better!!!

Great Italian food and not overly expensive for what you get. Burrata appetizer was the best I have ever had and we are from Chicago w tons of Italian restaurants. Husband had carbonara w truffles and I had breaded bone in pork chop Parmesan. Both outstanding. Great tiramisu! Nice wine list.

Started with drinks, cocktails that were pricey, but fun. We started with the octopus appetizer and the bread, octopus, sauce was amazingly good! Liked the side salad and beans also. We shared the rigatoni and scallops. The dishes were unique and excellent. I can't Explain why, but the dishes were so unique and flavorful--just very good!

I wish I had a picture to post but I was hungry lol. All I can say is CARPACCIO. We also had the calamari and the salsa verde and calamari was very good but the carpaccio is stuff dreams are made of.... seriously been thinking about it ever since. Going back again and again.. not to mention the service, I wish I could remember her name because she was so sweet! Love this place ... did I mention the carpaccio
What a great night! Patio seating was comfortable and made for great people watching. Our food was all delicious and the staff was SUPER friendly. We are happy to add this gem on our “go to” list!

On a positive note, the food we ordered was excellent. We had the burrata, scallops, and carbonara - all delicious! Unfortunately, the service was severely lacking. We waited over 20 minutes to be greeted by the waiter and to order drinks and appetizers. The appetizers arrived but still no wine nearly 15 - 20 minutes later! After ordering entrees the waiter stopped in again to take our order as he had completely forgotten that he had already done so. The food and atmosphere were both excellent, but unfortunately the poor and extremely slow service by the waiter was not ideal. I will say the host did an excellent job in checking on tables and making sure everyone was happy, as the waiter was not able to do so.

Great spot in grand central district Service was good Metered street parking free after 6pm Food: Ordered the cheese charcuterie and my friend ordered the meat and cheese charcuterie. I also ordered the limoncello cheesecake. I charcuterie cheese are changed periodically. Today's was 2 cheeses piave and gorgonzola. The piave is hard white cheese excellent and great paired with honey. Gorgonzola was creamy and nice spreadable cheese for the crackers. 8/10 The limoncello cheesecake was amazing it was served with almond cookies and white chocolate straws. 10/10

Upon arrival we had the pleasure of meeting Melvin, who I now see upon reading other reviews is quite well known in St. Pete (as well he should be!) He and his staff are "old school" restaurant service... knowledgable, incredibly attentive and proud. Chase, our server, the same. Both spent time with us, we never felt rushed, and the timing was perfect. The food...Ah....the food! Excellent. Calimari, perfectly cooked, without a hint of grease, flawless pesto, the scallops were delicate yet flavorful, and the lasagna was an authentic experience, an explosion in your mouth, a festival of flavors. The tiramisu was lovely, light and the perfect way to end the meal. An important piece of the puzzle that many restaurants get wrong is the atmosphere. Not Sophia's! A nod to midcentury, bright yellow, black, a light fixture that mimics an upside down George Nelson coffee table and Eames chair replicas throughout, overlooked by an enormous b/w photo of 4 women enjoying pasta... Sounds crazy and yet it all comes together in an elegant, understated manner. An absolute "must try" for those looking for a remarkable culinary experience. Oh, Sophia's Cucina, we will be back to enjoy your impeccable service, food and atmosphere!!!
