It was my birthday dinner, and I'd been to the same old Italian restaurants in the area but wanted something new. Carmela's is not really new to me...but I kind of forgot about it. It's been probably 4 years since my last visit, but I used to go there all the time. The pizza is phenomenal...they are known widely for their Grandma pizza, which is a thin crust Sicilian pie...very large and extremely delicious. I had one with eggplant last night, and it was fantastic. I don't quite know what kind of mozzarella they use, but it sure beats any other pizza joint--it has a fresh and creamy taste that you just don't find elsewhere. The same can be said for the pasta dish I had (I know...just how much carb-loading can one person do--but it was my birthday!) I ordered the Shrimp Angelica, a great dish of rotini, artichokes, red peppers, mushrooms, and shrimp--all in a very light cream sauce. No heavy, gluey Alfredo sauce here, I don't know where they're getting their dairy products, but keep it up! The difference in taste is quite noticeable between the mozzarella on the pizza and the cream in the pasta sauce. Maybe there's a dairy cow out back, I don't know. What I do know is it's a great small place with an excellent menu. It fills up quickly, so either get there early or you might have to wait. Prices are very reasonable, and it's a warm atmosphere. The only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that the rotini was a tad over cooked. Al dente works best in pasta dishes. Try it...you'll like it.

Carmela's has the best pizza I've ever had outside of Naples Italy. True, thin crusted NY style pizza with a fresh tasting sauce and just the right amount of pizza and toppings. We started our meal with the chicken wings which are delicious and crispy. Our pizza was the Neapolitan style and too big for the two of us to finish. The beer was nice and cold. It was a very simple, unplanned meal out but we are glad we went. I have found my go to for pizza when in Stuart.

Long time local eatery, brings NY Italian cooking. Pizza and meals are great. Also has a wine bar where you can eat in addition to dining room.

Carmela's was a good restaurant a few years ago, but boy how the food has gone downhill. The service was terrible and the food was just as bad. I will not be dining there again.

I was disappointed in the entire experience. Prices were certainly no bargain. I asked what was on tap and the waiter recommended a German lager. It was good, so I got another. Then I got the bill ... $8 bucks each for a 12 oz beer. My wife had one beer. Kids had soft drinks. 2 of the earlybird specials, 1 "personal pizza," a side of pasta for the little one (they don't have a kids menu). We had a Calamari appetizer (very mediocre) and the total bill was over $100. Are you kidding me? Very disappointed with the cost for very average Italian food. The only bright spot was the waiter ... efficient, friendly.

Toppings we chose for our pizza were pepperoni, bell pepper, onion and goat cheese. This thing was huge too. The service is exceptional here too.

Ordered the Grandma pizza tonight which has been our go-to for the past year however it was SO SALTY tonight. We couldn't even eat it. Very disappointing as we've always enjoyed this pizza. Maybe new pizza cook ?

Absolutely love this place. The only reason I did not give it five stars is it's very dark. We are older people and it's hard to see.We had a pizza and an antipasto. Both were excellent a beer and a glass of Pinot Grigio accompanied our meal. We sat at a hightop. The weight staff were attentive, and the price was reasonable.

This place used to be great On our experience no one knew anything had to look up all menu items Staff not friendly, acted like they were ready to go home. Asked for certain dressing have gotten it a million times, didn’t know what it was. To bad maybe invest in new staff, more friendly More knowledgeable Won’t be back

We always enjoyed Carmella's for a glass of wine and slices (squares) of pizza. Maybe it's me, but it was average, not as flavorful as in the past. Leftover pizza slices can be dried out, etc., but for some reason they lacked flavor as in the past. Smaller also. But if you want a little atmosphere and slices with wine, why not!

I ordered a Sicilian Pizza and it was very good. The crust was nice and thick the flavors were amazing, it could have had a little more sauce for my taste but overall DELICIOUS

Great food and a cozy wine bar. Perfect spot for a relaxing meal, with live music on some nights.

Gave this a 4 as I have dined here before and it was pretty good. However this last time I ordered chicken parmigiana and I found the chicken very tough. it was not "pounded" so as to tenderize it as is normal but came in a "lump". In addition the sauce was a bit watery so either they did not drain the angel hair pasta well enough or the sauce itself was not sufficiently reduced. Next time I will just order a pizza
