This place has changed so much since I first came in. Today the service was bad and the food was below average. They no longer serve you water as you come in and what's worse of all, they took down the picture of the big afro guy. They also started serving non-vegetarian food, which goes to show how much the philosophy of the place has changed. I will not be coming back again.

Customer service was horrible! Very small portions and just oil barely sauce. I came to them about it being so much oil and little food because I'm a first time customer and they fussed at me and was very unprofessional and disrespectful to where I could hear the yelling from the back where they were cooking about me...would never go back again very rude, especially the manager. The garlic naan is good and the chicken was okay but not worth the price! Literally a grown man yelling about and at a young lady, I was disgusted after having to experience that because it was unnecessary and not how you treat customers!

I have yet to find a solid South Indian restaurant in South Florida, so I went to check out Madras Cafe. Though I was excited, I found this restaurant to be below average. The service was extremely slow even when the restaurant was not busy. I think they are lacking staff members.Along with this, the food lacked the true South Indian flavor that belongs in items such as Dosa and Sambar. My friend and I tried the Paneer Wings (which were just cubes) and two different types of dosa. The food was very oily and did not taste completely fresh. The prices did not justify the quantity of food either. There was also a small hair in the Paneer but the owner was kind enough to discount the item. The restaurant is fairly clean but has some fruit flies flying around. The ambiance is casual and the staff is friendly. This restaurant has true potential but they need to change a lot of things starting with the service and quality of food.

Madras Cafe is a pleasure to visit.Let's start with the staff, the waiter was top notch, he was very busy getting ready for a big event, but despite of that he was courteous and respectful. They were out of some dishes but he offered alternatives and helped us to have the best experience. We tried the vegetarian menu, and you will not miss the animal protein. The flavors of the food was outstanding, a bit spicy ??? please ask how spicy the food is before ordering. I am not allergic to anything but let them know about any allergy, the dishes have peanuts and cashews.Really easy to park right in front of the restaurant.Don't miss this place, you won't regret it.

Authentic South Indian food! The dishes were extremely delicious - all the items were made to order, including the medhu wada which wasn’t pre- made in the morning and served to us. It appeared to have been made as we ordered. The dosas, the sambar and the masala reminded me of back home. The only things I would add - 1. Could have an extra chutney such as tomato chutney with the idly. 2. The roof seems to be falling apart. Needs a fix asap. No complaints about the food though! Highly recommend this place!

**About the Restaurant Location:**Nestled in Sunrise, Madras Cafe offers an authentic taste of South Indian cuisine in a clean and inviting atmosphere. Although it started off quiet, the restaurant quickly filled up, a testament to its growing popularity, despite being newly opened I guess.**About the Dining Experience:**Our culinary journey began with the vada sambar, a traditional South Indian dish featuring savory lentil donuts served. While the sambar was exceptional and the chutney delightful, the vada batter had a slightly sour taste, detracting slightly from an otherwise stellar dish.Next, we indulged in the Bangalore kara dosa with masala filling. This dosa exceeded expectations, impressing us with its bold flavors and expertly balanced spice levels. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered it twice, appreciating both the crispy texture and the fiery kick of the spices.**Summary:**Overall, Madras Cafe delivers a memorable dining experience, offering a taste of authentic South Indian cuisine in a welcoming environment. Despite a minor hiccup with the vada batter, the Bangalore kara dosa stole the show, earning it a place as one of the best dosas in Fort Lauderdale. With its growing popularity and delectable dishes, Madras Cafe is a must-visit for South Indian food enthusiasts, deserving of a solid four-star rating.Vegetarian options: Lot of Vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Please ask the staffParking: Lot of parking spotsKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes

One of the authentic Indian restaurant in Sunrise. Please do come and visit this place. Yummy taste and served hot.I had ordered: idly, wada, samosa chat, pav bhaji, gajar halwa. All were proper Indian tastes. Service was too quick.

The best butter chicken I had in the south Florida. It was the closest to what you get in India.Plenty of seating. Bathrooms and other areas of the cafe looks little run down.Service was little slow. Can’t wait to try South Indian food items from the menu next!
