Closest thing Tallahassee has to a speakeasy. It’s an awesome little bar inside of a building made to look like a library. The drinks may be a little pricey but I consider them fair due to their exceptional quality. It’s a hidden gem.

The coolest bar in Tallahassee, without a doubt. The concept is so cool and everyone who works here is super friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks they offer. You can try vintage drinks here that you can’t find anywhere else. The vibe is immaculate. It’s in an old converted library.

I love to spend time this old library/new bar? I think, here is the best elite bar in the town!! There is not much food options. However, they have a quite extensive beverage menu which is amazing. Especially, the organization of the menu! I mean you are able to see what year and the glass type of the drink? I ordered TOFU sandwiches. Even though I like Asian cuisine, it was not to my taste. For the first time, I tried PİSCO/Grappa and loved it! ? although it includes egg white and of course, HURRICANE and BLUE HAWAİİ ✨ ?Vegetarian options: Tofu sandwich

The lack of professionalism at Bar 1903 was incredibly disrespectful. The staff spoke to us condescendingly, treating us like children rather than valued patrons. They repeatedly scolded us for laughing and enjoying ourselves, creating a tense and unwelcoming atmosphere. Additionally, they were difficult and unaccommodating, making it challenging to relax and enjoy our evening. Overall, the disrespectful behavior of the staff overshadowed any positives of the bar, and I would not recommend it to others

We were a group of adults in town for a conference and looking for somewhere to have a few drinks and laughs that was not filled with 20 year old college kids. We were rudley told that we "laughed too loudly" and 8 people in our group was too many after half of our party ordered drinks. We are professional adults and it was disrespectful. After, we went to a rooftop bar where the staff was amazing and the drinks and view were spectacular.

Room for Improvement: A Candid Reflection on Our Recent Visit**Review:** TLDR: Avoid the stuffy atmosphere, expensive food and drink that don’t match the prices, and look elsewhere.During our recent visit to Bar 1903 we were excited to experience what we had hoped would be a memorable meal, drawn in by the restaurant's reputation and ambiance (historic library). However, our encounter fell short of all expectations, leading us to share our experience in the hope of fostering improvement for the staff.**Service:** Our primary concern revolved around the service. Open chairs were not allowed to be used. Requests to access the bar were denied. Tables were available and ready, yet parties were not allowed to be sat together. Laughter (not kidding) resulted in staff asking us to keep it quiet. Such experiences can significantly detract from the dining atmosphere and guest satisfaction. We did not anticipate a bar established in a historic library to continue enforcing the library etiquette.**Food Quality:** Again, disappointed with the food quality compared to the price. Food is overpriced and fell short of our expectations.**Ambiance:** Huge potential to be a great place to relax, drink with friends, and make new ones. Instead, the staff refuse to allow groups to be sat together, do not allow seats to be filled, and overall act very pretentious and petty.Despite these challenges, we believe Bar 1903 has the potential to offer a much more positive and welcoming dining experience. Here are a few suggestions we hope can guide improvements:1. **Training Staff for Better Engagement:** Ensuring all staff members are trained in customer service excellence can make a significant difference. A welcoming and attentive approach can often offset unforeseen delays or issues that arise.2. **Feedback Mechanism:** Implementing or highlighting a direct feedback mechanism for diners on-site might help address concerns before they escalate, fostering a more positive relationship between the restaurant and its patrons.3. **Menu and Service Review:** Reevaluating menu items and service protocols periodically based on customer feedback can aid in keeping the dining experience fresh and customer-focused.We share these thoughts with the hope that Bar 1903 will consider them as opportunities for growth rather than just criticism. The restaurant industry thrives on customer satisfaction, and we believe that with some adjustments, Bar 1903 can enhance its dining experience for all patrons.**Overall Rating:** 0/5 (sadly 1 is the lowest allowed on Google.

We ordered and did not get our food they did not give it to the front desk or leave it at our door. When we called the phone went dark. When we called and the phone finally answered they told us the food had been delivered. Do not order ?

We came for the drinks and stayed for the food. They have such lovely selections of old timey drinks here, organized on the menu by time periods, which also includes historical blurbs on the evolution of cocktails, making perusing the menu an experience in itself! The atmosphere is one of a kind, as the venue was historically a library, where some of its aspects are seemingly reserved in situ. The space is quite small though (my only complaint), so plan accordingly as there may be quite a wait, especially over the weekend. We also ordered sandwiches, and I did not expect much (because it is a bar after all), but all of the food were actually SO DELICIOUS ?. I’m drooling right now just thinking about it. Sadly I failed to properly take pictures of all the drinks and dishes that we ordered; perhaps next time!

Really cool concept bar with a really extensive cocktails list with the drinks organized into decades. Their cheese boards are unique, with unexpected items like picked green beans and curried cauliflower. If I had to describe one drawback, I'd say it's a smaller location, so definitely not a place for large parties, but perfect for an intimate date night. It's also a favorite of lawmakers during the legislative session, so be prepared for a packed house and a wait if you go then!
