Traveling through Tallahassee to a garden center in a strip mall and happened upon the Cuban grill. Monday afternoon at 6 pm and not busy. We decided to try two dinner plates. Lechon Asado - shredded pork with black beans and rice, yuca, and maduros for $13.75. It was EXCELLENT. The pork was tender and juicy, the black beans were delicious and the yuca was perfect. The maduros were also wonderful. The portion size was very generous. I am not a big eater so it was a good 2/3 more than I could eat. We also tried the palomilla. Steak was the choice and it didn't disappoint. The serving size of steak was not as generous as the pork but it was more than enough with all the trimming- yuca, black beans and rice and maduros. Atmosphere- 3 Nothing fancy and in the corner of a strip mall but the food overshadows the setting. Quality/taste - 5 everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Service- 4 college aged employees who were friendly Overall - 5 the food was delicious and I will definitely be back. Gluten free options

I stopped in here on an impromptu lunch break. It wasn't too crowded, but there were a good number of people in the establishment for lunchtime. I ordered the veggie Cuban and it was pretty tasty. Apparently there was Mayo on it and I can't stand Mayo typically, but I didn't really notice it on my sandwich. It's not listed as an ingredient so just know, it's on there. I also picked the plantains for my side. I am a plantain connoisseur and they were just OK in my opinion. I also didn't feel you got enough for the price. My biggest reason for only giving 3 stars was the customer service. I didn't feel like a valued customer at all. Regardless, people love it! The food if anything is enough for a repeat visit IMO.

This place has Great Cuban food, more of a cantina style than a full service restaurant. FOOD HAD TRADITIONAL CUBAN FLAVOR and Freshly prepared. Friendly staff and good food enticing me to come back for more.

Really good food! The atmosphere is sort of janky, but the food is hot, delicious, and worth it!

It's location is hidden behind Carrabba's Italian Grill. When we arrived it was empty, but I have to take into account that they close at 8 pm and we walked in at 7:00 pm. My wife asked for the vegetarian dish and I ask for ropa vieja. They both tasted real good. The only thing I found was that a can of Materva soda was $2.42 which is to pricey. The most I ever paid for a can of soda is $1.50. Even some of the food is pricey. I Miami I would had paid $24.00 for everything we order. I paid $29.99 here. But for the taste f authentic cuban food, I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent meal. I got takeout. Actually, a couple takeout meals. I was looking for a new place to try. The food was excellent. Not salty. That’s my biggest complaint at many places often food is too salty. Love their meals

Wonderful food. The Reuben Cuban was hearty, flavorful, and delicious. They care about their food and are a nice mom-pop style hole in the wall. Highly recommended

For a Tallahassee Cuban restaurant, this place does a good job! I'm used to Miami's Cuban food and absolutely love it. In Tallahassee, Cuban Grill is the best option. Whether for lunch or cafe con leches, I highly recommend this no frills restaurant.

AUTHENTIC! I GREW UP IN THE REAL KEY WEST & FIND IT DIFFICULT TO FIND REAL CUBAN FOOD. I HAD THE ROPA VIEJA, WITH YELLOW RICE & BLACK BEANS & PLANTONS ( PERFECT!) , AUTHENTIC CUBAN BREAD, SMALL SIDE SALAD. THE BEST CUBAN FOOD IN TOWN. HUGE PORTIONS. VERY LOW-KEY--- NO DINE-IN AS YET BUT CARLOS' CUBAN GRILL REMINDS ME OF HOME. VERY PLEASANT GENTLEMAN TOOK MY ORDER. DIDNT TRY THE KEY LIME PIE BUT MY GUESS IS THAT THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A REAL ONE.

Love this place! Everything even ever eaten here was very well prepared. Don't forget to ask if they have flan. You don't want to miss it. You'll never find a better flan anywhere!

The place is not fancy, you order and pick your food up at the counter, the food is served on paper plates, it's low key hole in the wall. All those things make it a perfect spot. We got a Cuban sandwich with black beans and white rice. Everything was delicious, the black beans probably the best beans I've ever had. I finished it up with a slice of authentic key lime pie and a shot of cafe Cubano. Highly recommend this place.
