I don’t understand how this place doesn’t have a line out the door. The service was impeccable, and the food was AMAZING. My husband and I split the Retro Plate and the Bluegrass Grit Bowl. Both were incredible, but the highlight was the smashbrowns- they’re like hashbrown patties, but big and soft in the middle. Incredible. I also had a maple latte that was to die for.Locals, get your act together and come eat here!!! You will not regret it!!

Nope Nope

When the ladies are working the counter, service is efficient. When the guys are working, it takes 30 minutes to get a biscuit and an egg. Ridiculous.

First time to Maple Street Biscuit Company. We were warmly greeted. I love that they call your name based on 'what you would do with a million dollars.' That's fun! However, I don't know if it was the location itself or the fact it was a holiday (President's Day) but we arrived at 10:50 and didn't receive our food until 11:20. And there weren't a ton of people there. I only saw 3 employees. Everything looked appetizing when it finally came out. Unfortunately, my husband's gravy was cold on the Five and Dime. We didn't want to say anything since it had already taken so long. I got the Squawking Goat. It was good, not great, but good. Biscuits are yummy! My kids also had good meals. I would try it again but maybe not this location. Just don't expect it to come out fast. ?

I had placed an order for pickup, and usually they’ll confirm when your order is done being made and ready for pickup. However, even though the pickup time said 2:33–it was never marked as being done. So I ended up just finally going in closer to their 3 pm closing time—and I went to talk to one of the ladies at the register and I came in with a polite hello, and all she said was “Can I help you?” in kind of a rude tone. So I told them I had pickup and the she just shoved me the bag with now COLD food and then turned away to finish whatever she was doing. Super rude.

Even when they have no customers they are slow. Waiting over ten minutes and counting.

I waited for over 30 minutes for one squawking goat with two people ahead of me. No urgency. I was ignored at the counter for several minutes before someone came to take my order. Make sure you have an hour if you plan on eating here.

The food is absolutely delicious. OMG I ordered the Bluegrass Grits Bowl and never expected the flavor to be so amazingly prominent for grits. I'm a Southern girl and normally have to "doctor up" grits when I order them at a restaurant. Well not here, I just chowed down. The only negative here is the nonchalant impersonal workers.

When this first opened, the food and atmosphere were exceptional. It truly was a unique experience. They played bluegrass music in the dining area, the food was always fresh and hot, and the manager made his rounds amongst the tables, passing out glazed mini biscuits and talking to customers. He said he wanted to get to know his neighborhood. Real family atmosphere with a unique experience.Shoot forward to today. My wife and I walk in and there are a total of 3 employees with about 8 patrons. No music in the dining area though you can hear hints of rock music in the kitchen. We order two of the new specials. I find out later the side that comes with mine is out but I am not offered a replacement, just an empty spot on my plate when I pick it up. No one to speak to as the plates are dropped off on the counter. The customer's name is called once, and the employee moves quickly back in to the kitchen. My favorite coffee, the maple bark, is empty in both carafes and there are 4 sugars left at the coffee station. All the carafes are in need of a cleaning. I tell one of the employees and they take the two maple carafes back, never to return. Sugar is never refilled. When our orders come out, there is a very cold piece of cheese slapped in the middle of my biscuit, a shocker when you are enjoying a hot biscuit with egg, bacon, ham, and BBQ sauce. In short, things have gone down hill. I witnessed two other customers complain about their missing side item and told they are out of the smash browns. Each asked for another option and eventually received a side items, to eat later I guess. No one was offered this at the register. One other customer asked about the maple bark coffee and was told it was being brewed. She was still waiting when we left. This location in Tallahassee is truly a neighborhood location. Back in the day there was a Food Lion and a Hobbit Hoagie here. Now there is a church, a barbershop, a thrift store and Maple Street. I am guessing most of the clientele live in the area, as we do. For a quick breakfast when you are nearby, with no expectations, this is a decent stop off... maybe. As a destination breakfast with any expectations whatsoever, this is a non-starter. Hopefully Maple Street with either fix this or a new restaurant will move in. It really is a nice location with a large dining room.
