During a recent road trip stop in Tallahassee, while waiting for our Tesla to charge, my husband and I went to try Tijuana Flats for a late lunch, and we were pleasantly surprised! I opted for the shrimp bowl, accompanied by tortilla chips and an unsweetened tea, while my husband enjoyed the steak crispy tacos. Both meals were flavorful, fresh, and just what we needed to refuel for the road ahead.What sets this place apart, besides its convenient location (perfect for a quick stop if you're charging your vehicle), is the impressive selection of Mexican hot sauces. The variety available is fantastic, catering to all preferences, whether you favor mild and flavorful or hot and spicy. The self-serve hot sauce bar allows you to customize your meal to your liking, adding an enjoyable, personalized touch to the dining experience.The ambiance is casual and welcoming, with vibrant decor that adds to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The staff was friendly and efficient, making our brief visit a memorable one. For anyone looking for a quick, tasty, and satisfying meal, I highly recommend Tijuana Flats in Tallahassee. It had been a long while since my family of 4 ordered from a restaurant so we decided to try Tijuana Flats for the first time. Seeing as how it would be my first visit I called in advance to ask about the size of the nacho plate. I was told that it was huge and would be enough to be considered a meal. So I ordered 4 different ones along with some dessert and a cool looking bottle of hot sauce. I got there early and had time to feel out the environment. I got to say it was really cool and relaxed. That hot sauce bar is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Everyone in the restaurant was nice and attentive. I received my 2 bags of food and I'm not going to lie I felt the weight and became a bit concerned. I got the food home and we spread it on the table for everyone to just eat as they pleased. Looking at the nachos we thought they forgot to put the meat on them. After digging for a second we found a small amount on top of the chips and under all the other toppings. I know inflation is hitting but I paid $80 for chips lettuce tomatoes and a very small dollop of protein. What we had was very good and very fresh but I think the person on the phone may eat like a bird if they thought 2 people would get full off that box. The churro bites and cookie flautas were just ok. They both were a little too greasy. Oh and we had a quesadilla with chicken and beans. It wasn't anything to write home about but it was ok. The outside wasn't grilled just a white flour tortilla that was microwaved with the filling. Besides the environment and the hot sauce bar the experience definitely wasn't worth $80. I wouldn't mind trying the other things on the menu but I can't see myself spending that kind of money again when I could feed 10 people by cooking it at home.
Love this location....just a little far from downtown for me, still make it there though. I wish the Pensacola street location didn't close down, I was there weekly. The Mahan/90east location needs a deep cleaning. Staff is nice but the last time I was in there I thought I was going throw up.

Burrito bowl was very good. The guac was fresh; black beans were savory; ground beef had decent flavor; rice was fluffy and did a good job of soaking in the array of flavors. The sauce bar was hit or miss. If you have kids with you, you may want to shield their eyes from the offensive language that's on some of the sauce description signage.

Online order not ready for over 1 hour after placing the order. Got home and was missing sweet sauce, habenero sauce, and queso Blanca. No sauces were included. I had to go back up there to correct the order while the rest of my order was at home getting cold. Absolutely terrible service. I did say at least give me my tip back. No other discount offered for all the inconvenience. Upon my return, Jackson, the one appearing to be in charge apologized for first time wait and I very specifically told him he had a lot more to be apologizing for. This isn't the first time this place has messed up my order. The last time they didn't even include the tortillas. I will never go back and it used to be one of my favorite places. Lately they can't get anything right.

Online ordered with a set pick-up time, food was almost a half hour late and the wrong order on top of it, I won't go back even if it's free, it's a an upscale looking taco bell with actually worse service and seriously mediocre food, spend your money somewhere else.Parking: Lots of better businesses around so parking was difficult.
