The food smelled good, but the customer service lacked. He wanted to us serious and take our order when he saw us leaving, by that time we were already tired of waiting, 15 minutes was long enough

Everything that I have ever tasted here was so good Mel has different varieties of meats, sides and drinks I love love love the ribs and sausage can't get enough of it. Mel is all around fun to be around his service is great he always have a smile on his customers face even though there is a little wait but it's worth it because he always keep you entertained and smiling.

Man I found this spot on google and it did not disappoint, the man who worked there was friendly and humble. The people waiting in line told me to try the ribs and that’s what I got. I’m telling you this your order, get the rib sandwich kids meal, for 8 bucks the best thing I got!! The mild sauce was delicious and it had a nice smoky flavor. Definitely will come back, probably try the chicken sandwich

Very flavorful.. greens , Mac &cheese , chicken and sausage well prepared and cooked. The definition of real bbq taste. Top bbq in tampa for sure . Would definitely recommend. Love how they have a kids meal section. My son enjoyed his meal.

Mel, you have somehow made the BEST ribs I’ve ever had! I grew up close to Memphis, and experienced the worlds best barbecue during Memphis in May - World BBQ Championship. Your pork ribs sir are finer than any I’ve ever tasted in Memphis or anywhere in between far and wide. The ribs are tender, falling off the bone, yet, there is that subtle tangy moist crust holding all of the goodness together. The Mac and cheese is amazing as is the potato salad. Wow, is all I have to say and thank you for being a blessing by the awesome food you provide. Best ever.
I finally visited Mel BBQ after passing by numerous times. I had the rib sandwich, which was meaty and filling. Well-seasoned and tender, when you bite it just melts in your mouth. Four slices of bread would have been nice instead of two. I can only give 4.5 stars because when I asked if he had a hot sauce, he did mention it may not be hot enough for me. Well, he was right. If he gets that hot sauce one day, let me know
