After a drive from Lakeland, Fl on my way to work In Tampa, I decided to get off my route to my usual dependable breakfast stop, Mambo’s Cafe. Pulled over and googled breakfast near me and headed towards Girl and a Grill. Got there 20 minutes before opening time and read the reviews and menu and prepared myself for a treat. At 6AM the place opened and I went to the door to see a person looking at me from inside cutting onions. I looked and wave until the person decided to come and open the walk up window. As the person opened the window he/she immediately said, “I am only doing bowls!”. I was befuddled, baffled and perturbed at the statement from the person. Keeping my composure after making an effort to have breakfast and deciding to patronize this restaurant because of the reviews I read, I decided to just shake my head, turn and walk away disappointed. I’m a 6’1, 240 pound alpha male and the tiny question rolling in my mind about the statement given to me by the employee, with no good morning salute was, what is a bowl of whatever going to do for me to start my day? I had my mind set on the 2 eggs, 2 meats, grits, pancakes and a container of green koolade(yeah that’s how we spelled it back in the day)? If I’m correct the same ingredients the person wanted to give me a bowl of could have made the big boy breakfast platter I was anticipating ordering. Sorry 1 Girl, I didn’t get to experience your grill but the initial encounter I received from your employee should be addressed as a teachable moment to them so they can uphold your successful business expectations . Great website tho’

First time visiting but will definitely be back! The food came out quickly and service was very friendly! Easily one of the nicest service experiences I’ve had in the neighborhood.The sausage and mini pancakes are tied for my favorite piece of the two meat plate and my partner loved how soft & flavorful the croissant was for his 50/50 croissant sandwich. Can’t wait to take my family here when they come to visit!Parking: Limited number of spots but people come and go pretty quickly so you should be able to find a spot easily

Delight on first whiff! On first bite, just as tasty! This novelty breakfast joint is real and great to see in the community. We even got to witness the owner pull up like a G and invite us in for a snack. I would recommend “The G.A.G” for a big breakfast. The meatless croissant sandwich is nice size and would recommend honey as a complement. I would visit this spot again.

I love Girl N’ A Grill breakfast spot. I literally want to go everyday and would if I lived closer. The prices are great, the food is amazing and so flavorful and the portioning is perfect. The customer is top notch, April makes you feel like you’re one of her close friends. I can tell she loves what she’s doing and I love that she’s doing it. April is such a beautiful person who cares about each of her customers. When we go April is always in a great, happy, dancing, and talks to her customers. The moods of her staff and the music makes me want to dance every time. I’ve dined outside when it’s not that hot out, and we’ve taken the food to-go a lot. I go every weekend usually Fridays or Saturdays….. sometimes both days. I get so excited when my boyfriend asks what/ where I want to eat, it’s always Aprils Girl N A Grill. I’m going today too which ? is a Thursday . If you on a budget she even has meals that will fill you up for $5 yes $5 you choose your meat and get grits and eggs with it. Aprils five dolla holla meal is what it’s called.Parking: The parking lot just needs more space, but the food is so awesome you don’t even care. If I had the funds to donate to help a little I would.

Everything was all good but she went an extra mile to ensure my 1st time experience was great by giving me 1 of her signature drinks for free!...and that drink was GOOD GOOD!
