Mel's! I moved to Tampa (from Chicago ) when I was 5 years old, in 1985. I saw Mel driving the wienermobile in the temple terrace 4th of July parade every year. I think Mel's Hot dogs sponsored my soccer team on and off. Anyway, the hot dogs are legit. The fries are good and they have the best ice for the soft drinks. Just like when I was a kid.

It was a good hot dog, but nothing more. The sausage and bun were very tasty. But for that price, I expected more. The sausage was pretty lost in the bun. I thought it would be full of topping. Tasty, but too expensive for what it was.
Great little place. Customer service is beyond 5 stars!. Great variety of hot dogs, and fresh delicious fries. (Try the chili cheese fries!).

Brought back a lot of memories for my husband and I.Parking: Tiny parking lot, but it looks like more overflow parking is available somewhere else. Not sure.
