I discovered this place last year when working at Florida Blue Tower for a few days. I went there for lunch this past Friday on the 26th. I was not disappointed one bit. Their food was delicious top notch ? The portion size was phenomenal. You will not go home hungry from there. The staff is very friendly and take pride in their commitment to great food.

Went to Papi's for lunch on a rainy Thursday! It's in an office building soIt took us a minute to find it. You can order sandwiches off their menu or get their hot lunch which is served cafeteria style, which is what we got. I had the yellow rice with black bean soup over top and roast pork and green beans. Everything was delicious and really well seasoned but the pork was the star of the show-so moist and flavorful with escabeche style onions on top! My husband had the same rice and beans but instead of pork he had the beef in tomato sauce/gravy and sweet plantain instead of green beans. The beef was a little dry but the flavor was good. The next time we're in Tampa at lunchtime, we'll be back!

Papi's Cafe is a family-owned cafe that has killer breakfast and lunch options. They're a hidden gem inside the first floor of the Florida Blue Tower. The food here is delicious - Alex the owner is a great chef and cook. Everything he makes is tasty and delicious. You can tell he puts his heart and time into his dishes.Alex's Cuban Sandwich is hands down in my top 5 list of Cuban sandwiches. Big portion, mighty sandwich, and always prepared perfectly. You can also customize it your way. The Cuban Breakfast Sandwich is also delicious and one of my favorites. It's pretty much a bacon, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread but you can also customize it your way. Extremely delicious. For lunch they switch it up everyday and have different Cuban dishes out every day.Everything here is extremely delicious. If you're landing in TPA and want to get something local and Cuban this is your spot. Much better than La Teresita Restaurant - seriously.
