Food is very expensive $25 for a meal with swallow. I ordered for pick up and they really put what they wanted on my plate & not what I ordered. I even explicitly told them I had an allergy to legume (locust beans) but still found them in the stew. I didn’t ask for ewe du because it’s made with locust beans, but still they put it on my plate. Customer service subpar. Most of the women who work here are not friendly at all. The inside of the restaurant was nice, so that’s positive. 3/10 would recommend only because of the authentic Nigerian food.

I am very disappointed with this place. I have been to this place quite a few times but this time I noticed that my card was charged for $53From tfk African restaurant. I had questions of how they charged the card without me giving them the card number. The woman(owner) replied call your bank. And still asked that we pay for our food we ordered which was $36. That will be the last time that I get scammed from this African restaurant. Also I'm getting new debit cards to avoid this issue.

The restaurant wasn't ready for dine in guests as they were still under renovations but the owner made room for us to sit down and properly enjoy Nigerian cuisine. It's a small family owned restaurant and the mom, You can see she is passionate about the food she makes.Flavors were on point and she took the time to explain the dishes, the preparation process and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. She even walked us through how to eat the Fufu the right wat, and heat up the next day. The food was delicious, service impeccable and music/atmosphere was perfection. This will be my first stop next time I visit Tampa.Since it was our first time ever with African cuisine, we ordered multiple items from the menu. Jollof rice of course, fried rice, egusi with pounded Yam, pepper soup with fish I believe, and a couple more items I don't remember the names of. Unfortunately I didn't get good photos but hope this review will convince you to try them out.

The environment is neat and the people here are polite and respectful. I ordered Jollof rice and goat meat which was super delicious and ordered ofada rice for takeout. I low-key think the price should be much more higher (I visit a lot of African restaurants). Food was fresh, more like it just came off the cooktop. My friend (Henrico - who is not of African descent) fell in love with Naija food at this restaurant!Overall; Ambience, food, value for money, service = 100Areas of improvement: Have more variety of Naija drinks

I'm really disappointed in the food considering it was $26 for chicken and jollof rice. The chicken tastes very old and has a faint taste of ashes. Not smoke but almost cigarette ashes. I couldn't finish my plate. Also they forgot my plantains! Just not good.

I recently dined at TFK African restaurant and had the opportunity to try their egusi soup. I must say, the flavor of the egusi soup was undeniably delicious, and it showcased the rich and diverse culinary traditions of African cuisine. However, there were certain aspects of the dining experience that left room for improvement. One notable concern was the portion size in relation to the price. Priced at nearly $30, the portion of egusi soup I received felt inadequate, especially when compared to similar offerings in other establishments. In my previous dining experiences in Los Angeles, I've enjoyed equally delicious egusi soup at a lower price point, often with portions substantial enough to serve two people or even take some home for later.Additionally, I requested the dish to be prepared spicy, but unfortunately, the level of spiciness fell short of my expectations. I was expecting a more pronounced kick of heat, but the dish was relatively mild.Service also left much to be desired. As a first-time patron, I expected a more welcoming and hospitable experience. The service was, regrettably, almost non-existent, which can impact the overall dining experience negatively.Furthermore, I'd like to highlight that the menu prices at TFK African restaurant may not accurately reflect the final bill. It's advisable for diners to inquire about the actual prices of their selections before making a purchase to avoid any surprises. In summary, TFK African restaurant offers a tantalizing taste of African cuisine, particularly with their egusi soup. However, improvements in portion sizes, spiciness customization, service quality, and pricing transparency would greatly enhance the overall dining experience
