The room I am in does have a good hot shower, decent bed, Comedy Central works on the TV. It is busy here and do recommend getting here before night fall being parking is tight.

After our flight in Atlanta was delayed and then cancelled, we were finally placed on the last flight out at 12:20am. I quickly made arrangements for a hotel in Brandon since we would be attending my Grandmother’s funeral there the next day. I first booked a holiday inn through my IHG app as a late check-in option since I was booking it after midnight. Since it was being booked so late, I wasn’t able to put in suggestions at the time of booking such as arrival time. I tried to call the hotel over and over before my flight took off and never could get anyone to pick up. Once we landed at 2am in Tampa, I tried again repeatedly to reach the hotel to talk to someone about our arrival time. However, since I booked the late check-in option at 12:30am, I assumed it would be okay. Once we arrived at 3am after picking up our rental car and driving 20 minutes, I quickly realized why nobody would pick up all night. The receptionist was on a personal call and seemed bothered by our arrival. He had a difficult time finding my reservation, and finally accepted my suggestion to use my confirmation number. Once he located my reservation, he told me it was cancelled because of my late arrival. I explained that I booked a late check-in merely 3 hours prior and tried to explain our situation. He then told me that he could reinstate my reservation, which seemed like an easy fix. I asked if we would be able to extend check-out so we could try to get more sleep before my grandmother’s funeral, and he quickly told me no, that he couldn’t do that. He then told me because he already did an audit for the night, that he would have to charge us for two nights, nearly $700, to stay for only 6 hours. He had absolutely no empathy that this was 3am and me, my husband, and our son had been traveling all day to try to get to this funeral. He took a bad day, and made it so much worse. I asked him to cancel the reservation and that we will just sleep in our rental car if we have to. Thankfully, I called courtyard Marriott 7 miles down the road and they were more than willing to accommodate us, including a military discount, which ended up being about half of the price as Holiday Inn, a late check-out, and offered their condolences. The gentleman working at the front desk showed empathy and prevented my family from sleeping in a car at 3am hours before a funeral. Everyone was pleasant and a breath of fresh air compared to what we encountered down the road at holiday inn express. Empathy goes a long way and because of this desk clerk, we are Marriott customers for life. Marriot for the win!

If you are looking for a low budget hotel then this would work for you, but if you got young kids, this place won’t work. First off, if you look carefully enough, you will find ants on the tables and possibly on the bed like I did if your room has a balcony. Ants come through the balcony is what I’m thinking. How do they make up for that? They give you a downgrade in your room and call the balcony a luxury to have so they don’t do anything to compensate for the downgrade in the room and the General Manager defends not giving compensation by saying at least we didn’t cancel the reservation and refund you and that you have a place to stay. Having a balcony was just an added benefit plus having a bigger room so it doesn’t mean anything to downgrade you to a smaller room with no balcony and smaller square footage. Walls are thin so if your child is loud, you may get a knock on your door by the next door neighbor telling you to keep it down at 9:30pm. You may also hear guests in the hallway being loud at night. I showered my daughter and while drying her hair, she was singing loudly and someone knocks on my door saying she’s next door and it’s loud. Then she had the audacity to ask if we were smoking because she can smell smoke. She’s obviously smoking something herself or high. Going back to the ants issue. The staff have bad communication. After informing them of the ants in the room, I was told management would get in touch with me. That never happened. I had to make sure I followed up each day and never got a resolution. Was finally told to contact the 3rd party where I booked the room about the issue for compensation. I get notified on the day after checking out from a 4 night stay that compensation was denied by the hotel when the 3rd party contacted the hotel. So I call the hotel and the General Manager answers and first he stated Priceline is non refundable and this is the first time the General Manager heard about my room issue. After staying here for 4 nights that he finally hears about my issue from me. Either way, the General Manager doesn’t do anything. He obviously doesn’t care for the guests. The bistro they have in the lobby serves breakfast for 3 hours and it’s not complimentary. Then they are closed until dinner time. The location is poorly lit on the outside so you can miss the entrance to drive your car in if you don’t pay attention. Only upside was an indoor swimming pool that is 3 feet 6 inches to 6 feet. No hot tub. Indoor pool is not well lit if you decide to go towards the evening. The gym has 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 exercise bike, and some weights. If you can avoid this place, you should at all cost. If you are really staying on a low budget, then this will probably work for you. You may want to find an Airbnb, which can be cheaper than staying here.

Hotel was clean and renovated. Staff was pleasant. Perfect for business travel. The Starbucks in the lobby was perfect to start the day. In door pool was great since it was a little cold outside during my visit. Super recommendable!!

Paid $400 for a drained sheet and dirty room. Bistro food sucks. Selling water for $5. They turn ac off in gym to save money. Rooms are moldy. Also no hot water on weekend. Stay away from this roach infested place.

I recently stayed there as I had a business trip to port area. I am so pleased to stay here moving from outskirt of tampa to brandon. really convenienet to LEE ROY or I-75 North. Rooms were super clean. newly renovated room with super clean lobby. Front Desk staffs are super friendly. whether morning or evening. Am so happy to see bistro was open during morning and evening. I was always either greeted by Bistro Employees or front Desk employees. I forgot the indian manager name but he was super friendly who checked me in. I did come across with some negative reviews in this page. But boyy employees were super helpful. I am coming back next time again.

This hotel is not family friendly. I received multiple phone calls and visits to my room cause they heard my kid walk or cry. After receiving my "second warning" the front desk got confrontational with me. DO NOT STAY HERE WITH KIDS.

The staff at this hotel are great, from housekeeping to the front desk. They were all nice, friendly, and efficient. Unfortunately, while the staff gets a 5, the hotel gets a 1, at best. Where to begin? The room smelled. The shower curtain is too short, allowing water to spill on the bathroom floor. The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. Breakfast is not included. The TV does not have access to Netflix, Prime or anything else. There is no enhanced Wi-Fi. This hotel is a never again.

We stayed here primarily for the indoor pool on a Busch garden trip. It was a cold weekend. Pool was good. Breakfast was extra, over priced and the food itself was not good. There is a cornerstone bakery and bob evans close by-recommend eating there. Room tv were off- not centered between 2 beds.

I wish I could have given -10 stars. We stayed at this hotel last week. Hotel was clean but my shower was freezing… too cold to wash hair. My family was not willing to enjoy a freezing shower. Husband asked manager for compensation in Bonvoy points for 1/2 of the bill, but he was unwilling. My husband is a very calm & diplomatic man & never raises his voice & this was no exception. Nevertheless, manager threatened to call the police!!!! When I joined the conversation he threatened me with the same. Truly, we never yelled, threatened, or used any profanity, just asked for what seemed fair compensation in points… not even in dollars! This manager said A. My husband is untrustworthy B. “Well, I’ve got your credit card.” C. I won’t tell you my name D. I’m going to call the police As unprofessional as this testimony is so far, the most egregious issue is that, when asked, the man would NOT tell me his name. He replied, “I gave it to your husband.” Sexist? Yes. After multiple queries, the “manager” gave my husband a torn off scrap piece of paper with John ____ (couldn’t read last name) hand written. When asked for a business card, he refused. I contacted Bonvoy who wrote it all down & said they would email a response. It has been 12 days and I’ve received no email.

I was actually nervous to be staying here for my daughters soccer tournament this month. After reading the reviews, I expected to not have a good experience, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. Every staff member was extremely friendly. The rooms were updated and clean. When the girls made it further in the tournament then expected, they were extremely helpful with extending our stay....even giving us the same discounted price. All in all we were very happy with this hotel.
