I'm super bummed to be writing this review because we've been to The Pub so many times and it has always been good. The food has never been the problem. We made plans to meet some family members that were coming from out of town, at The Pub for dinner. We were planning on having a party of 8 and thought it best to call and make sure that they can accommodate us on a Monday night at 6pm. My husband called on Sunday and spoke with someone who told him that they do not take reservations and it will be no problem to be able to accommodate us. We arrived on time with one less person than expected, so a party of 7. The restaurant was not crowded at all, there were plenty of tables available. The hostess was very confused and after about 10 minutes, tried to seat us at a booth by the bar that normally seats 4-5 people max. I know this because my family of 4 has sat at this exact booth. She even tried to add an additional seat on a platform that surely would have lead to someone falling off, backwards. We expressed our disappointment (very nicely) and even tried to squeeze in, just because we wanted to be able to sit and talk with our guests, but there was no way that 7 of us could've eaten in that booth. The hostess said that normally they could push tables together (which we've done so many times in the past with large parties), but they already had another area with a large party in another part of the restaurant (and basically didn't want to do that). Did I mention that the restaurant was empty? She said that we could sit at the high top against the window (Really? We have 7 people that came to enjoy a meal together and we should all sit, side by side staring out the window?). We all got up (the 3 of us that scooted in and were basically touching) and said that the table wouldn't work and my husband said that we'd have to find somewhere else to eat. She didn't say anything. I was beyond shocked that they did not want our business and just let us walk out the door. There seemed to be plenty of staff around and people cooking in the kitchen, so it didn't seem like they were short handed. We left and went right across the way to Brio, where we were seated in 5 minutes, the server was exceptional and we had a fantastic dinner.

Absolutely love this place. Been here many times and it never disappoints. Fish and chips are amazing. Great selection of drinks. Staff super friendly. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Live music on Saturday night. The artist had great song selections? The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable!Great customer service from the hostess and waitress.Fries and broccoli ? were tasty ? Salmon was not seasoned and the Belhaven burger was too cheesy.

The fish and chips are a must have. Friendly service and the Black Velvet Band always brings a fun vibe.

Burns supper was surprisingly authentic. Never been to a restaurant for this event, usually a Scottish American Society. The haggis was mild but spot on. The star of the dish was the turnips, slight spice was a nice addition to the haggis. The dessert was a light pond cake with a crunchy edge with clotted cream...so simple and wonderful! Had the goat cheese dip as well, which will be a staple next time we go. Service was up and down, but it was an odd night for them, so I would expect it would be better normally. Already looking forward to next year's supper!

This place is great. We've had the beer cheese with pretzels, the gouda mac, the fish and chips, and the chicken Sandwich. The pretzels were amazing, the Mac and cheese was perfect, the chicken sandwich tasted amazing, and the fish and chips definetly deserve their award. The staff was great too.

Gotta Love the Pub!Who says Brit food isn't 'Brilliant'?I beg to differ. Most will agree the UK Signature dish is Fish & Chips. I twisted it up a wee bit. Ordered the Pub Fish sandwich. I had to practically unhinge my jaw just to take a bite! Now, that's all right!Service was Stellar by way of the lovely Emma. Had a great experience for not a lot of moolah.

Such wonderful & friendly service! The food was even better. We stopped by to watch a 1:00pm football game and were pleasantly surprised with the lively environment. The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. A perfect lunch stop! Would definitely recommend to others.

Very cool pub and authentic atmosphere. The fish n' Chips are excellent and a huge portion. Scotch eggs was a good attempt but not perfect, little overcooked also. But everything else including the service(Yelen) was great. Highly recommend if you are wanting traditional pub style food.

Having been in Florida from England for nearly a month, our young daughter had a craving for fish & chips, so we tried The Pub. The food was excellent, the surroundings were very British and our server was nice. We did notice that they seemed a little understaffed and we felt sorry for the waitresses that were running as fast as they could.

The Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips were fantastic! They were both very flavorful with wonderfully blended seasonings; without being "too much" of any specific one. The fish was cooked perfectly! Unfortunately, the food is definitely the only reason to go. The service/atmosphere is NOT the reason. We sat at the bar because they have many different draughts on tap and I like to try different ones. However, I only got to try one because the bartender (never told me his name) was not interested in discussing the options. Then after I finished the "red" draft I had with my lunch, he could not be bothered to check on us again. After waiting about 10 minutes sitting at the bar (right in front of him) with empty glasses, we finally flagged down the other bartender for the check so we could go elsewhere. I do not think the problem was that he was overly busy, but that he was mad that he was working. I bartended many years working my way through college and was much busier than him. The entire top floor was not opened and there were at least two bartenders working. I believe it was attitude, not aptitude on his part. Rod was the only employee in the restaurant that actually talked with us. He seemed to genuinely care about our visit. If he is not a manager, he should be; or at least lead customer service trainer. We may go back again for the food, but not before checking out the many other great looking restaurants in the mall. Hopefully, we can find one with a marriage of fabulous food AND service.

We stopped by The Pub Tampa Bay for a late lunch in the middle of the week. The pub wasn't very full, which was nice, and we wanted to watch the World Cup game, but there are a limited number of tvs inside for viewing. The happy hour menu includes small bites! I would recommend taking a look at those before ordering appetizers off the main menu. Speciality cocktails are also $7, which is a great deal given the fact that the Bloody Mary pictured would have originally been $14.50.We ordered the fried pickle spears to start. They were delicious and had a little bit of a kick to them, possibly paprika or cayenne thrown in the breading, which I loved. Of course, as a first timer, I HAD to get the fish and chips. The fish was juicy inside and the breading was just right. Our server was very kind and very attentive. Anyone who has to wear a kilt as part of their uniform is likely a decent human being! We would be back if we were in the area but it would absolutely have to be during happy hour to take advantage of the happy hour specials!

My friend and I stopped in here for lunch after a morning full of shopping. It was overly busy for a Saturday afternoon so we were able to be seated right away. We chose to sit outside and they have a great patio on the second floor. This pub is very large so there is ample space. I went with the fish and chips and my friend ordered an American breakfast. Our food came out quickly. The service was decent. I'm not from Tampa, but I would dine here again and try something different.
