Come here for the energy, the piercing sound of the espresso machine churning out cafe con leches, and the ridiculously tasty and reasonably priced food.

West Tampa Sandwich Shop, a childhood memorable place that became an adulthood frequented place from time to time.As a little boy growing up in the 70’s visiting with my dad and mom, to my years as a police officer stopping for lunch or “1010” as it’s known, and as an adult now with a wife and kids and grand kids this place will always be memorable and iconic. The service, the food, the Cuban Sandwich is always 5 star and will always be 5 star.Keep up the great work #WTSS

Amazing that people still come here. As a Cuban American who grew up in up with Cuban sandwiches and Cuban food I know what to expect. It blows my mind that this place has been around as long as they have. The Cuban first off shouldn't be called a Cuban they should call it a Tampa sandwich or cubitalian because they are combining an Italian with a Cuban. A Cuban is simple. Marinated pork, ham, mayo, mustard, pickle and Swiss. That's it! None of this lettuce tomatoes onion salami olives oil and vinegar junk. But don't get me started on the fact that they don't even put pork in it when you ask for a traditional and on top the bread isn't crunchy and sandwich have that perfect crunch with butteriness. I also got a pork sandwich and a croquetta sandwich and both were a joke. I should have been paid to eat this. Just sad.

The best Cuban sandwich I've ever had! The Cuban bread was so fresh! Great service too! Gil Machin brought us to the the place that makes the bread!

Average to say the least. Not the best cuban sandwich by far. If anyone tells other wise is either 2 things. They do not know what a good cubano is or they are not being honest
