Services is good, servers are great, but gluten free, lactose free / skim milk should be added to menu , less butter in meal making could be helpful and

Actually, not as good as in the past, breakfast was under cooked and now with the snow birds in it was over priced

Came here 3 days in a row for breakfast. It was excellent. Good home cooking and very generous portions. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend the French toast, pancakes and biscuits, and gravy. Although I will bet anything you order will be good.

The two stars are for the server. She really was killing herself to hustle and they seemed understaffed, which is par for the course nowadays, but it was unfortunate that the other servers don't help each other out. Patrons suffer and I saw people walk and walk out as they either weren't waited on or there were no clean tables as they didn't have a specified buser. Been here a couple of times before when passing through. There aren't many choices unless you are going to go into the thick of The Villages. It was a very decent meal before (not sure where my previous review went, as I gave it 4 stars), so consider this an update. I got the veggie omelet, which I have gotten before and it was always good. Unfortunately, this time, the best food item was the wheat toast. Like to know where the source it, I'd buy it.... anywho... The plates themselves significantly decreased in size to laughingly try to fool the patrons into thinking they are getting more I guess. Omelet was made with an egg substitute or a serious amount of milk to stretch the egg, veggies were drowning in oil and grits were inedible, made with no salt in the water and no amount of "after market" salt or brown sugar could save that sinking ship. My husband got the cheesesteak...did not look appetizing and he said as much.. I know my cheesesteaks form being from that part of the world and it was worse than an imposter. Look like dried shavings and not even chopped sirloin. Counted 10 fries on the tiny plate and could hear everyone around us asking for more fries/where were all the fries. Take note, 3.9% added for card. I wouldn't mind if the food was the same quality. Something has seriously changed, don't know what, but we won't be back to find out if they've righted the ship.

A hangout for old-timers who enjoy poor food.

Pretty basic diner. Everything you'd expect from a small diner chain in Florida. Our servers were lovely and professional. I have eaten at this specific Villages location and if you're not familiar with the area, it's a retirement area. Every time I've been here there are some disgruntled octogenarians complaining about something. Which, no judgements, hopefully we'll all make it that far and be complaining ourselves. Just a heads up.Eggs were not dry, bacon was well done, gravy on the chicken fried steak was very peppery which I enjoy. The wrap was pretty decent, fries def could use more salt. But I personally would stick with breakfast items.

We personally love Darrell's. It's a comfort, old-fashioned kind of diner - not a fancy breakfast place (such as First Watch). So don't expect Gluten Free toast or fancy coffee etc. We frequent the one on 301 in Wildwood and the one in Pinellas plaza. The staff at both are super friendly and you can tell they really get to know their regular diners. My favorite is 2 eggs over medium with corned beef hash and hash browns. It's delicious every time. My husband goes for 2 eggs over medium with 2 sausages. We skip the toast and get decaf coffee. It's our go to place for breakfast. Their omelets are good too - fluffy. I think they probably put something in them to make them fluffy (maybe a dash of pancake batter?). We haven't tried any pancakes or waffles so can't comment on that. The portions are good sized and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Definite yes for us.

This review is for the Darrell's in Pinellas Plaza (there are bunches of Darrell's). We love this place for breakfast. Food is cooked to order and always good. My test for breakfast--can you make poached eggs that are cooked just right? This place does. The wait staff are friendly and fast! They help each other out too. On a recent visit, a customer accidentally pushed their plate to the floor while getting up. The staff literally swooped in, cleaned up the plate, helped the customer regain balance, offered another cup of coffee at the now spotless table and generally made it seem like nothing had happened at all! When I congratulated them on their teamwork, one waitress deadpanned, "We are highly trained professionals!" Be prepared to wait at popular times as this place with table seating, counter seating, and outdoor seating fills up fast. So there might be a line! Those sitting outdoors often bring their doggies and Darrell's has water bowls handy. Lots of dog pix on the walls except at holiday times when one energetic staffer decorates the whole place. It's fun and the food is very good. Ditto for lunch. Darrell's in PInellas Plaza is our go-to for Saturday breakfast.

Good breakfast. Attentive service. Reasonable portion sizes. Coffee refills; they even offered a to-go cup on our departure. Dog friendly outdoor seating. Plenty of parking.
