Umu is a great spot in Wesley Chapel that has a very nice atmosphere and great service and was such an enjoyment all around. I got the Pad Thai and it was very delicious. Personally I don’t like spicy food at all and they were able to take out the spice level so that it was more enjoyable for me. This was a very good experience and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Nigiri was delicious, but the specialty rolls were not good and not worth the price. The specialty rolls didn’t taste like specialty rolls and they were very small for 17-19$. The waitress was nice and the atmosphere was cute.

Couldn’t believe how she treated her employees when we came into have dinner. Very unfair it’s a shame this place used to be really good when they first opened. Please do not sleep on this place! Omg I had the Buta Kakuni and my taste buds exploded from the flavors off this pork belly dish! I am sad I didn’t come here when I first saw the existence of this restaurant. This flavor palace! The Smokey Dragon roll with its notes of lemon zest! Chef kiss to who ever came up with this menu. The environment here is very co-chill!!! I wanna stay here and try the whole menu!!

We have been dining at Umu for 3 years now and they are second to none in the area. The food is always fresh, consistent and delicious. The dining environment is very welcoming and cozy. The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile and the service is always excellent. I would highly recommend to try Umu.

Simply fantastic!....nice and cozy environment. The service was on point. The Sake and Wine selection, although not abundant it was not a diminishing factor because of the very attractive choices they do have. Not to mention the great tasting food...! This was my first time and I guarantee will not be my last...I'll be back again and again.

We have eaten at Umu a number of times since our first visit in 2022, so we wanted to add this additional comment from our recent visit this weekend (Jan 2024) The boxes are only sold at lunchtime (see our review below) , the dinner menu has many more sushi offerings including signature rolls, classic rolls, hand rolls, Nigiri and Sashimi as well as Japanese and Thai dishes from the kitchen. On this most recent visit we had Chicken Sa-Tay and Philadelphia Roll for appetizers, then Kao Pad (Thai fried rice) and Penang Curry for our main course. As usual all were excellent, and the prices were reasonable, though the glasses of house Chardonnay we had with the meal were a little expensive at $13. Service from Sarah was excellent. The total for the two of us was $101.65 before tip.Lunch review from 2022.We found this strip mall restaurant more by luck than judgement, and are grateful we did. My wife is an aficionado of Chicken Pad Thai and has been looking in north east Tampa Bay for a restaurant that served good Pad Thai. We have found it. Pad Thai is on the lunch menu as Box 9, Pad Thai and at lunchtime is served with gyoza dumplings, soup, salad, noodles and tamagoyaki. I had the Box 3, Steak Teriyaki which came with gyoza dumplings, rice, soup, salad, and tamagoyaki. That also was delicious. Lunch was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back
