“In the 1990s, I was an exchange student in Brazil first in Fortaleza, Ceara and later in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. I also interned one summer at a law firm in Rio de Janeiro in 1995 when I was in law school. So I have many fond memories of the people, places, food, and culture of Brazil. This buffet at Sabor de Minas is chock full of authentic homemade Brazilian cuisine the way my Brazilian mothers (or their cook/housekeepers) used to make. In Portuguese there is an expression "matar saudade" which loosely translates into "hits the spot/scratches that nostalgic itch" when you miss something you love so much. I even get to practice my rusty Brazilian Portuguese when I come in here with the cheerful and patient staffers. I'm greeted with love just like I felt from my Brazilian host families back when I was a young adult. I now come in here regularly after yoga at the Yogi Perogi in the same strip for a hearty healthy meal and my favorite Brazilian soft drink, Guaraná.“
“The food selections are not the best, but there is always a variety. I suspect it is perfectly suited for the college students it services! I really appreciate that they use NO single use plastics, not even for carry out food! Kudos to them!!“
“Haven't been here in a long time. The food was good. Lightly seasoned and tasty food. Not too much salt, which is good. Great variety of foods and desserts. Staff was extremely friendly. Thankful for all the hand sanitizer around as well.“
“Everything you'd expect from a buffet, except the food always seems to be warm and fresh! It's never made me sick, which is more than I can say for most buffets, and they have a hibachi and sushi station as well!I always forget the pictures, but it's my new favorite buffet by far!“
