Love Schack's. Friendly staff and good home down country cooking. Nancy, the owner is a sweetheart and the rest of the staff reflects her compassion. I love the breakfast country fried steak with home fries, biscuit and a bowl of sausage gravy. Split the biscuit and pour the gravy over it and the home fried, now that is a rib sticking way to start your day.

If I can give this place a 0 I would. our waitress was a older lady who seemed like she didn't want to be there. Girlfriend and I are from out of town and wanted to grab something fast and went to shacks bbq. Ordered fried green tomatoes the only thing we got that we enjoyed. Got our food wasn't that good. I got the beef dinner it was like they went to food lion and got a half pound of roast beef and heated it up. Mac and cheese was so bad "how the hell do you mess up mac and cheese? Girl friend got the the ground hamburger steak and got a frozen hamburger patty. So we was talking about how bad the food was. Then here's the best part... our waitress started killing Flys with a fly swatter on the empty tables next to us. Then walks away without even wiping the tables off... I WILL MEVER EAT HERE AGAIN... IF YOUR THINKING OF EATING HERE DON'T!!! GOTO CIRCLE K AND GET HOTDOGS INSTEAD..... NOW I KNOW WHY THE PARKING LOT IS EMPTY....

Stopped in for a late lunch expecting this to be an all out bbq restaurant only to find it's more of a typical greasy spoon that serves some bbq foods. We ordered a shrimp kids meal, a turkey club sandwich and the pulled pork. The food itself is okay, the service was good, the staff is friendly overall. They do have 3 different bbq sauces which I'm fairly certain are of their own making. The decor feels more like an old cafe than a bbq restaurant. Sadly we weren't very impressed and were rather disappointed. Still searching for a good bbq restaurant here.

Pulled pork sandwich is ok. Mac & cheese is flavorless. Cole Slaw taste stale? Best I can describe it. Ribs were very tough and hard to bite in to. We came right at 5pm and everything already looked and tasted like it was really old.

The staff is friendly but the food is underwhelming and overpriced. The rib platter had five or six tough, fatty ribs with very little flavor.That same rib platter with 3 sides was $21+ dollars. I've had average ribs before but not this bad. Ribs I get out should be at least as good as I make on my smoker...these were not even close.

very disappointed with how I was treated tonight. I wasn't going to make a fuss about it but the way the server spoke to me and treated me makes me feel I need to. I came in at the end of the night, and tried very hard to make my order as easy as possible put of deference to the workers. When my food came, my potatoes were cold (wouldn't even melt the butter). I wasn't even going to mention it until the server asked if everything was good, I told her everything was great exce

Best part of the meal was Sherry our server. She was so nice and took great care of of us. A close second was the sliced smoked turkey. It was super juicy and just the right amount of smoke. The spare ribs were tender, but tasted like they were leftover from lunch. Fries were good! Corn and green beans cooked nice but needed some extra flavor (table salt worked). Was a nice place to get a good meal swag from LegoLand resort restaurants. Would follow Sherry anywhere

good food, usually, service and atmosphere. just tried ribs & chicken. extremely scrawny. barely could struggle to get a couple shreds of bites of meat from a $14 meal. major disappointment.
We come to Schack's every time visit this area. We always get good service and enjoy the food.

I finally stopped at Schack's and enjoyed it. I had a meatloaf special which was not on the menu. The sides of beans and coleslaw were great. The next time I stopped by there was no special of the day. It seems the cook/chef decides each day if there will be a special. It would be great to have the specials defined and not so hit-and-miss. I will be back -- there are more items on the menu which I would like to try. And maybe if I am lucky there will be a special offered.

You have to go here!!! Went here after LEGOLAND with our family of 5. We have 3 boys 6-13. They ate EVERYTHING that they ordered. This place has real good BBQ/smoked meat. I can't wait to come back. Sonny's is gross compared to here !!! All good was DELICIOUS!!! I cook meals at home most of the time and don't care for the restaurant style foods cuz they don't WOW me easily so this is a HUGE compliment!!!
