Umi is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. The sushi never disappoints and they always accommodate our party size. The only negative thing I have to say is the food does take awhile to come out but other than that it's an amazing restaurant to eat at!

Had a business lunch meeting there on Wednesday and out of the 4 of us, the 3 that had the same entree all had significant stomach issues later that night and into the next day. Regrettably, we all had to call in sick the next day. Although the food tasted good, there is obviously a disconnect in terms of sanitary food prep, cross contamination and quality. The service was great as she was very attentive.

The food here is tasty. Service is nice. It's not too loud, though we went on a day when the place wasn't full. The menu is an interesting mix of Korean, Japanese, and other dishes (like ceviche). Our table shared some appies: Kimchi croquettes were well done with good integrity and good crunch. Edamame were served salted and spicy Kimchi flavours. The Kimchi edamame were a bit weird; they tasted more like spicy BBQ sauce.I ordered the California roll, Philly roll, and Nezuko roll. At 8pcs each, I couldn't quite finish it. The rolls have a good amount of filling. The jalapeno in the Nezuko roll makes for an interesting texture and some bites were quite spicy. I guess I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to sushi because I wouldn't order it again - not enough fish and too many other ingredients.

This place is awesome! Great food with new tastes, and wonderful service with the managers and owners checking on us to be sure all was good. We loved the creative menu. Sushi and noodle dishes were amazing. The kalbi also delicious! I definitely recommend this place and we'll be back!

Disappointed. The ramens were terrible, burnt fried chicken nugget, old bean spouts, dry hard pork belly, tonkotsu tasted so blend, the tonkotsu soup tasted like they are out of the soup and just dumped the water in it, the worst tonkotsu we ate in Orlando. The food came out very slow. I know it is a busy place, but I watched other tables and noticed the food came out slow despite so many sushi chefs. I think the food were overpriced for the quality of the food we received today. The sushi we had were okay. I left 2 stars because the waiter was friendly and tried his best in the busy dinner time.Recommend Japanese restaurants: Kabooki Sushi, Wa-Sushi, Hanamizuki Japanese Restaurant.

Service was a bit on the slow side but we also showed up for Valentine's day so that's not too surprising.I had the Crunchy Hako (Salmon), two Tuna Nigiri pieces, the Kimchi Croquettes and the Umi hot sake. My partner had the miso soup, sweet potato and shrimp tempura rolls and then we shared some salted edamame. All of my food was amazing and my partner said theirs was too with the exception of the sweet potato roll. I tried it and it just kinda tasted... Earthy? No real flavor beyond that. They also specifically mentioned how the miso soup wasn't too salty which happens a lot.Definitely planning on returning when my partner's stomach isn't already upset so they can try some of the more fun menu items!

We enjoyed another amazing experience at UMI. This is the freshest and most creative sushi I have ever had! By far, the very best anywhere in Central Florida! Thank you to the amazing team led by Miss Suzi! David is a star too!

Overall was a great place to eat if you like Japanese food. The sake mimosas were great, was busy around the time I went but they were servicing tables left n right, was able to have a pretty clear convo with my lovely date.

We drove almost 2 hours each way and have no regrets. Food is absolutely incredible, the Mango Tango roll is our favorite. The service is some of the best that I've ever had. Our Server Ryan was incredible, and the owner, Mrs. Susie even came up to us to talk and see how we were doing, and spent way more time then she needed too with us. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The chocolate mouse cake is to die for.

Looks are a bit deceiving, but don't let it fool you. This restaurant may not be right in the middle of the strip, but it's definitely worth the walk towards the Rollins College area to get this amazing food. Take. Look at the pics I posted. The food has amazing eye appeal as well as the food tasted amazing. The hot boards are a very cool and interactive way of eating too. I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants in the Winter Park area and this is one of the best!
