Perhaps my expectations are too high but I feel like some basics apply here. We visited today/Thursday and discovered after ordering our glasses of sparkling that bottles are 1/2 price on Thursday. We also asked the bartender what she likes for food and she told us several things prior to ordering. Nothing about the happy hour specials nothing about 1/2 price bubbles. When we asked her why she didn’t share the specials when we ordered, she stated she’s not allowed to share specials unless someone specifically asks for the discount. We asked for the discount but once you’ve been served glasses of bubbly you can’t do a bottle. I’m sorry but just bad service all around nor passes the common sense test. You need to do better!

Cru in Avalon is the best. BEST. Stephen, AJ, and Chris will take care of you like no other. It’s such a personable place. I’ve been here 4+ times in the last 5 months and it’s always been awesome!

First of all, I've been coming to Crú at Avalon for many years, have celebrated a few NYE's there, popped in for happy hour, and celebrated several birthdays there with a friend who has a birthday in common with me. We dined together last night, February 29, a Thursday, to celebrate our birthdays. We each ordered a Stone Fired Pizza. Mine arrived in a timely manner and we each dug in to a slice of the delicious Pear & Gorgonzola. However, after 15 additional minutes, my friends Black Truffle had not arrived and no one gave us any information. 20 minutes later, the waiter buzzed by the say “any minute!” and by 25 minutes of waiting, an unidentified woman told us she would “take care of it and it would be out soon”. Suffice it to say,when it arrived after 25 minutes, I didn't want to return my pizza for reheating as I was concerned it would get ruined and might get overlooked as happened to my friend! So I had an ice cold pizza that I ended up taking home, while my starving friend devoured hers. Our table was one of about 6 that tightly sit along the longest wall. Time after time, the waitstaff would slide themselves between tables as they served the tables next to us, rather than standing in the aisle. Thus their derrières were right in line with our table tops, next to my dinner plate...not appetizing in the least! I suggest they take this into consideration when serving the guests! I'm thinking I'll stick with the high top tables from now on!

In short- don't waste your time here. Wine selection is great but that's what to expect from an establishment that considers themself a wine bar, as for the food? 100% not worth your time. We started out with the burrata and the Caesar salad, while the salad was great, the burrata was small, lacking flavor, and not worth the price. We carried on to entrees where I had quite possibly the worst filet mignon i have had in my life. I regret not taking a photo because it was actually comical what they consider to be steak. Upon arrival of my steak that I asked for medium rare, i received a steak with absolutely not a trace of red in it, sent it back and got one in return that was cooked at medium but was so ready to leave it didnt fuss. Save your time- bad food, but great atmosphere.

My husband was taking me out for my birthday. We decided on Cru because we had a good experience there in 2019. It was a Saturday night so he called to make sure we didn’t need reservations(2 hours in advance). The employee put him on hold to make sure she was giving the correct information by asking a coworker. She then told him no reservations were needed. When we arrived it was crowded which was taken into consideration since it was Saturday. I noticed an empty table by the front and to my dismay I noticed it had a “reserved” sign on it. The waitress came and told us there was no seating except outside(it was a very cold night in Georgia). We explained how we called prior to coming but she scrambled to say that the employees are supposed to take reservations. It was very upsetting. Luckily a nearby restaurant was able to accommodate us. Please try speaking to a manager if you plan on coming to this establishment on a busy weekend.

I took my friend there for her first time and it was amazing! The food and wine choices are excellent. I had the Salmon (my friend, the Scallops) plus we ordered the Goat Cheese Beignets and Meatballs as appetizers. Everything was cooked perfectly and we will be going back very soon! I've had the same server, Jesse, several times and he is super knowledgeable and good at his job. Great experience all around!

Cru is a favorite. We love the staff who are super friendly, have great attitudes and attentive. Good vide and great location. One issue, they dropped the fig and Gorgonzola appetizer from the menu!

Haven't been there in awhile. Had lunch yesterday. It was delicious tomato soup and grilled cheese yummy! Ben our server was the best!! We sat outside because of our Yorkie Monty was with us. He made sure to accommodate us. Definitely will be back.
