Had dinner tonight. Ordered panko shrimp. So covered in some kind of sauce. Not sure I had shrimp-really couldn’t tell. Use to be great but not tonight. So overcooked whatever it was. Huge disappointment.

God I love Sunday Brunch at FIVE. Yes, three piece jazz band, yes Jittery Joe’s coffee, yes pitcher of mimosas! We stop here every time we come back to Athens, and the only reason why it is not five stars are two things: 1) we really miss the frozen orange juice ice cubes in the pitcher of mimosas. I understand needing to serve them in a water glass, but those orange ice cubes set you apart. 2) it makes me really sad that my only food option as someone with Celiac is the salad. Yes, it is a DELICIOUS salad…but it’s salad. I would love to see something gluten free! Love you guys!

Simplicity is one of the many virtues of Five Bar. There are five entrees on the menu. The menu includes, also, a few of what they call "snacks," such as pimento cheese and tuna dip served with chips. In my estimation, Five Bar is one of the best of the many good restaurants in downtown Athens. - It's upscale but not fussy. - The food is great. We both chose the 12oz aged Ribeye served with fries. The steak was one of the best I've had. It was perfectly seasoned with a perfect medium do on it. We got the pimento cheese and tuna dip to go with it. Everything on the table was awesome. - The service was exemplary. We were seated immediately upon entry. Our server, Kristjana, did a great job all the way around. She was on the ball the whole time and helped make the meal fun. I'd be more than happy to sit in her station again. - Note: We visited on a Sunday night around 7:00. The place gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights when immediate seating is not likely to happen. They don't take reservations, so it's first come first served. - Prices were quite reasonable for the very high quality food and great service. - It's full bar so all of your booze groups are covered. I washed my meal down with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia and a Makers Mark rocks as one does. Cheers.

Enjoyable dining experience; festive Saturday evening atmosphere...food was very well prepared with substantial portion sizes; friendly mix of adults of all ages as well as UGA students...bar staff and servers were very professional and engaging...menu consists of 5 entrees and 5 appetizers...highly recommend a visit to this downtown Athens restaurant

I came here for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed my food. There is only 5 things on the menu which I enjoyed because I can be indecisive when there is too much on menu. I got the paneed chicken with the mash potatoes and a salad. The chicken and mash potatoes were delicious! I am not a fan of raisins in my salad so i didn't love the salad but it was still okay. It was really crowded so the service was slower. However the food itself was pretty good and i recommend.

I wish I could give this a zero. My table ordered multiple drinks and food and the waiter decided to scold us for not all ordering expensive entrees. She kept giving us dirty looks and completely made us look out to be horrible people. Don't let "bob" girl serve you. She must hate her life or something and decided to take it out on innocent college students. I hope she finds peace and happiness in her life because I do love me a category five. Just don't let her serve you and I stand by that she's mean and not cool.

Got some takeout to bring back to Cutters to eat during the game on Saturday. The menu is short and sweet. None of this 5 or 6 pages of random "specialties". There are 5 apps or snacks and 5 dinners to choose from. And every item we got was outstanding. The stuffed avocado I was skeptical of but it's now my favorite! The spicy shrimp are awesome too. Nothing like the addictive Bang shrimp at that one popular place although they've created a savory, mildly spicy sauce that slams the flavor home! So good! Also got the ribeye med/rare and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. We sat at the bar while sour food was being prepared and had a nicely done Bulliet old fashioned. The bartender that night was a beautiful warm and friendly young woman, who I can't remember her name at the moment, but will certainly go back and get it right next time. Five Bar gets five stars.
