This was a good burger but not great. Atmosphere is sports bar with tv and sporting events being shown. The service was fine . Your order is taken at the counter and you wait on the pager signal to pick up your food. There are an assortment of various burger types with one or two patties and various toppings. I would try again with a different burger choice next time.

Being able to customize burgers is cool but they should work on seasoning them or making them bigger. The alcoholic milkshakes were pretty good

If you like a really great burger, you should check out this place. We stopped here while traveling from Florida to TN for Christmas. Wanted to avoid the heavy traffic in Atlanta, so we took to the back roads and found ourselves passing through Athens at lunchtime, so we decided to get something to eat while in Dawg country! We were so happy we did that. Fast forward to our return trip... we made it a point to be in Athens for another stop at Grinderhouse for lunch. This time, we engaged a conversation with a local resident who turned us on to the grilled brussel sprout. They were the best I've had, anywhere. My wife is now trying to figure out their recipe so she can make them at home.Bottom line: I see many return visits to this place when we have the opportunity to pass anywhere near Athens, Georgia.

So what restaurant closes on Saturday 12/23 @ 8pm "for the holidays". That's crazy!! We had a party of 11- everyone soo looking forward to dinner there. We won't be back.
The last time we had grindhouse there was a bigger selection to choose form (ie: wheat buns etc).It still tastes the same but being a type 2 diabetic I miss the wheat bun. It doesn't jack my sugars up that much.My daughter even loved it which says a lot because she's autistic.

Fantastic Burger, Friendly service, quick food great experience.. the prices are on point.. check out the restroom it's kinda cool.. they have full service upstairs and walk up counter down stairs... Burger was delicious and fries were hot.. I can see why this is popular near UGA

Had their chili recently it was super ground down into mush no sight of any beans but on their picture of their chili on doordash it has beans in it so idk what’s going on there? It also had a very sweet floral fragrance to it almost like someone dumped a lot of cinnamon and maybe cardamom in it , it was a very odd flavor not good at all canned chili is a billion times better than theirs, had a hot dog as well super tough for a hot dog like how does one even over cook and dry out a hot dog how is that even possible?! Their fries taste like the ones in the frozen bags at the store. Really they should just only cook burgers and keep it at that it’s the thing they’re known for and from mine and many others experience it’s the only thing they’re good at making. I’d LOVE for Gordon Ramsey to come here and try their food and have them on the show.
