Gross. The grime has permeated everything. You’re also being cheated by the owner if you don’t bring cash, he owns the AtM that will charge you an extra $3-6 to pay for your meal. I wonder how much he’s made over the years cheating customers by only accepting cash?

I want to first clear the record… there is a review out there that says their health score is a 67 but it is NOT!!! The person doing the review obviously saw their max capacity sign (see picture). Their health score is actually a 93! Now to the food and atmosphere…. The food is amazing! It’s my husband’s favorite place to eat breakfast so we decided to eat our 23rd anniversary breakfast there. It was just as good as ever. The owners are probably some of the friendliest people in Athens. They always remember us and ask us about our family. If you’re looking for food just like your grandma makes you will not be disappointed.

Nice little breakfast spot. Food was good and fast. Service was good. Price was reasonable.

!!! CASH ONLY RESTAURANT !!! The outdated decorum, in my opinion, was charming. Wish they had music playing, also get the PANCAKES, they were amazing. These other people need to get off their high horse about paper plates.

Outstanding service and fabulous breakfast! My first visit to Athens, Georgia was topped off with an awesome way to "start the day". I really enjoyed breakfast on a paper plate...my first reaction was "I know this is gonna be good"...and it was! ??????❤️

I have lived here for 23 years and have never eaten at the Mayflower, and really it seemed like my kind of place, so I decided to give it a shot today and wow! My standards for hygiene are not high, like gas station tacos are my favorite, but this place is straight up disgusting. Paint coming off the walls, insulation hanging out, months of filth on the floors in the corners and around booths. My friend’s rubric was “is it nastier than the (beloved) old Gyro Wrap on Broad, not the new one, that’s squeaky clean I promise, and the answer is yes, way grosser. The posted health score was 67!?!?They use tossaway plates, cups, and flatware, which given the cleanliness, is merciful but who goes to a breakfast joint to drink coffee from a styrofoam cup? Yuck. They only take cash and advertise that nowhere so I ended up having to beg a total stranger for cash and Venmo him so I could so I could pay. Maybe someone will buy this place and restore it to its former glory because it could be lovely .Giving two stars because the pancakes were tasty and the servers were nice.

I think this food could bring a dead man back to life. Huge portion sizes for a very good price; I will be dreaming about the pancakes for YEARS. I am a grits hater and the grits here are phenomenal.

Small restaurant next to the University of Georgia, which has been open for years, and I suppose a staple to downtown Athens. Congrats to them. However, I was served in cheap plastic plates, silverware, and cups. I don't understand that, but that is how they run their restaurant. The food was not great except for the pancakes. It's really hard to mess up breakfast, but it didn't satisfy my taste bud.

My wife and I moved to Athens recently, and I have always wanted to try this place. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I ordered the country boy breakfast, which came with sausage. Scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns and pancakes. I substituted the pancakes for biscuits and gravy and it was so much food and it was so good. I had to take over half of it home. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go there for lunch. If you come to Athens and this place is open, you have to go here. It is absolutely fantastic.Wheelchair accessibility: I am in a motorized wheelchair and had no problem whatsoever getting in. I recommend this to anyone.

The Mayflower has a hometown feel. Eating here brings back childhood memories of growing up in Athens. We love visiting, eating, and talking about times that have passed while eating great food. The service, food, and value for your money are unbeatable!Kid-friendliness: This is a family friendly restaurant
