I am honest and admit it all. I was forced to eat here. Mind you, I don't mind spending money in upscale restaurants, but refuse to be part of the Apple phone, Starbucks, etc followers of what everyone else buys or drinks. I thought this was another high price "be seen" place. Boy I was WRONG!!!! THE Italian was fresh, full of flavors, high quality ingredients, happy friendly staff, clean, great atmosphere, just a wonderful experience. $50 for 3, but the experience was a can't wait to return one and plenty of food!! Can I get a cheaper sandwich? Yes of course! Can it compete with these ?? NO! Thank you all!

Ordered an Italian Sub with a few modifications. No mustard (check), Extra Red Pepper Sauce (check). Extra Mayo, Tomatoes and Lettuce (IGNORED). Sub was "ok", but a little attention to detail would have taken it over the top. Also, the location on Congress Ave. in Austin is not very inviting. All you hear is the kitchen fan.

I tapped to pay and the terminal added an extra $5 gratuity without my authorization. I notified the cashier and she said there was nothing she could do about it - that she did not add it and that *I* was the one that had to have done it. I assured her I did not. She said she could do nothing about it. Therefore, I will not return due to a fraudulent charge Newks would not remedy.

I've been to a few different Newks locations and this one is great. There are good salad options which quite large portions. Ingredients are fresh and dishes are well prepared. It's a good place for a quick sit down lunch.

First, employees were very friendly and helpful. Absolutely no problems with them. Wanna put that out there cause the rest of this isn’t their fault:- food was not good. My sandwich tasted weird and was overpriced for the portions I received. Also I don’t know how but the pimento and bacon Mac and cheese was bland- the place was loud and echoey, not very good for sensitive people- not even an hour after finishing my meal I was sick in a nearby store’s bathroom. Nothing has ever made me sick that quick and I feel bad leaving negative reviews but as someone with a diagnosed phobia of vomiting I wanted to put this out there so anyone with similar concerns can be warned.
