2 stars because the hash/stew was damn good. Nothing else was unfortunately. Might have caught them on an off day. The ribs were honestly just not good. Very little edible meat on them. Mostly fat, very chewy. They were out of baked beans which is typically a BBQ joint staple item.

Iv'e had a sit in a couple of times before the covid arrive . They serve good homemade full meals homemade scratch hash they make it fresh good ribs , chopped pork, with good spice sauce . The family is nice I enjoy there service.

The owners were so very nice and professional !!! Great food, fast and friendly service !!! And when you go... Try the Meat Skins, they are sooo good !!!!! My husband and I pre-order 4 to 6 bags each week !!!!I would give Scott's BBQ a A+++.

WOW! I have passed this place hundreds of times through the years, unfortunately, I never stopped. What a tragedy. We ordered the sampler plate. Overall very tasty. Spicy sauce had the right amount of heat, with lots of flavor. Potato salad was super good. Having said all that, the ribs are the best I have had, since moving to Georgia, 27 years ago! Sadly, it was too late to go back that night and get more. However, the following Thursday, I stopped on the way home and picked up a slab of ribs and potato salad. Tiny Mom and Pop place. They are very nice and friendly. It deserves 5 stars and more. I will be a frequent customer.

Scott's BBQ is hand's down the best barbecue restaurant in the Athen's area. Authentic, simple and delicious. I tasted their pulled pork, ribs and even their "skins" and found all simply wonderful. And their sweet tea in old vinegar containers is just how it should be. Worth the short drive.
