Great beer in an open friendly setting. The indoor and outdoor areas are dog friendly, kid friendly, all friendly. There appears to be a really cute cat, taking care of things after hours I'm sure!There was a great selection of styles available when we visited and each were very well done: märzen, Irish red, hazy IPA, standard IPA and schwarzbier. The märzen had a lovely spice twist.

Overall, my experience at Southern Brewing Company was a bit mixed. The atmosphere was nice and the beer selection was great, however, the lady at the counter was quite rude. Despite this, I would still recommend checking out the brewery. Just be prepared for potentially less than friendly service. Visited 3/12/24 @6:30pm

I have a large friend group that is here often! I participate in Cars and Coffee and always enjoy the times Southern hosts it, we visit for Trivia on a regular basis, and spend practically every Tuesday here. Great atmosphere, great employees.

The bar space is nice but the super loud country music will quickly drive you insane. I wish they would just play classic rock or someother kind of rock—something more crowd pleasing?

This is my favorite place in all of Athens, GA and it simply does not get talked about enough! The staff is exceptional (shoutout Matt!!) and super personable, I’ve made friends with so many of them as I became a regular there. I go to their karaoke nights on Thursday with friends as often as I can and have met some amazing people there. Their brews are also AMAZING. My favorite is the cookie’s and cream stout, but if you don’t like beer they have amazing seltzer and slushy options as well! The location is perfect with a good indoor/outdoor combo and a great venue for large crowds, animals, and even families. I’ll miss you when I’m moved away So. Brew!! :’) Also, for everyone saying they play loud music late at night, the place respectfully closes at 10 PM just like most apartments’ curfews for noise. This brewery is in a college town, closing at 10 PM seems fair to me!
