No dine in. Otherwise it's a solid 5 stars. Best chili dog ever.

Been eating Varsity food for 60 years. Still love it! Of course, I'm from Athens, Georgia.

Cheese wasn't melted on burger, slightly cold, drive thru only due to Covid I assume. Woman at window was super rude. Nearly threw my food in the car and walked away before I could ask for more napkins or a straw. Single burger is a children's portion almost would recommend a double or trip for full sized adult.

Easy-breezy service that's quick and not frustrating; meals the perfect size for a hot spring day. Even though I've only been twice, as of today, I'm gonna miss this place. And on behalf of everyone else who loves The Varsity and feels the same way: thank you for everything. ❤️

This is very good for when you are in the mood for this type of food. This restaurant has been in Athens for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately I just found out they are going to close it and demolish the building to redevelop into something else ?. So sad to see all old established places like this being replaced.

Cashier was great. Food was great. Just messed up wife's order she asked for only ketchup and mayonnaise on her hamburgers and got chilli and everything on it.

I understand that the Varsity is a Georgia institution and has developed a rabid following since its inception. Honestly, it probably had a rabid following all the way back to 1928 when it started out as the Yellow Jacket. It switched names to the Varsity to appeal more to college students. The Varsity has a cool retro feel to it, their menu is simple, but simple can still be a culinary wonder. However, I have always thought that the Varsity is mediocre at best. Nothing special, honestly, it is really not that great. People will always go to the Varsity, many for nostalgia and I 100% can understand. Food triggers memories and we all love to be wrapped in the remembrance of good times when the world seemed a bit brighter.

We waited in the drive through for 29 minutes for 3 cold chili/mustard hot dogs and cold fries. You couldnt go in and they didnt answer. It was also convenient that we couldnt get a receipt. G day game is tomorrow. They needvto get their game back up.

Don't take cash anymore. Caught employee trying to overcharge twice the amount. If you're going to require card payment, better hire honest employees. I grew up eating at the varsity, but prices have become outrageous and employees have hardening of the attitudes. Another business of Athens yesteryear bites the dust!

Grown up on the varsity and always loved it! That said went through the drive thru waited 15 minutes to be told that I couldn't place separate orders. I had to get reimbursed for one meal requiring a receipt. Spent more time arguing with me than to do it. Got to the window and she gave me the wrong receipt and was unable to get one of my orders. Not only did it cost you money but it was a waist of time. Doesn't encourage me to go back. Literally just wanted to share a piece of Athens with a kid.

This was my first time trying Varsity. The line was long but that's usually a good sign that the food is worth the wait. I got the double bacon burger combo with fries. It was all really good

Drive through only very slow. No restrooms for customers. Quality of food and size of servings reduced. Not the same old varsity.
