I have been here a few times and the food is always hot and tasty ?. The service is spot on Marina is great at keeping drinks full and recommending food items. Desta Ethiopian Restaurant's second location exceeded expectations, mirroring the excellence of the first. The combination of great service and delectable dishes, including the meat lovers' platter with kitfo, lamb tibs, and fillet mignon tibs, along with a side of salads, beets, and potatoes, made for a delightful culinary experience. Each dish was a flavorful. I look forward to returning for another exceptional dining experience.

The pictures on the menu are very misleading. The veggie pasta does not actually come with veggies. You have to add vegetables for an up-charge. That makes no sense and the menu does not explain this. Very weird. And the 2 girls working on 12/28 are not very nice. I've been coming to Desta for about 10 years now and never experienced any issues with the menu or anything. Must be new management. Ugh...

I just slapped myself for not trying this location sooner!! I have been driving past this one all the way to Briarcliff for almost 5 years!This location was nice and had the same friendly and engaging service. Most importantly the food was GREAT! i tried something new, Salmon gored gored. It was spicy as hell but delicious. Samson was an excellent server!
The atmosphere is relaxed and the service okay. It was a Wednesday, so they only had two servers. That said, our server was knowledgeable and helped us make some great choices. The food was exceptional. I liked everything. Loved the mushroom stew and lamb tibs. We definitely want to return.
Every time I eat there it's good. I want them to cater my wedding one day.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who used to live in Atlanta. But when we entered, everyone was eating with a fork (they’re given automatically with the meal) - which should have been our first indication that we were going to be disappointed (since Ethiopian food is supposed to be eaten with injera). We ordered the traditional vegan platter as always (bayenetu), but this one came without the shared bed of injera and with half of the plate containing foods we had never seen on this dish. Apparently you don’t even need injera for this since they offer bread and pita as an option. We recognize that after years of living in Ethiopia we have to adjust our expectations abroad, but this was quite the departure. We have other critiques, but if you are a fan of Ethiopian food in the traditional style, we would recommend you look elsewhere.
