I've got to give this place some love. LVL is tiny, cozy, and I had a great time there. I went to check out a friend's acoustic set. LVL made for some very intimate performance space. And I could see that even if there is no performance going on, this is clearly a great "hidden gem" of an after-hours hangout where you can get a decent cocktail and just kick back for a bit with your friends. Now, this is a bar, and not a restaurant. I don't think you'll find anything to munch on here. But they have plenty of things derived from wheat, sugar, barley, and whatever else you can distill or brew. No, this is not a bar that will mix you up some exotically specific, artisanal thing made from the extracts of a black orchid and the tears of Frodo. But it is a full bar, and they're pretty well stocked. (Even if they are missing Bailey's, or even some milk for a White Russian, ahem!) If you come to this bar and all you see is "PBR and a few longdrinks," you're either blind or stupid or both. The bartender was willing to do the occasional mixology experiment. And drink prices were quite reasonable, too. I'd like to see one or two more comfy seats to share. Otherwise, LVL seems pretty cool to me.

I don't know what changed since the last review here, probably the owner changed or so, but I wouldn't consider this a cocktail bar or anything special. Their menu is mainly PBR and a few longdrinks, no sign of hibiscus infused cocktails or anything near that. Interior and other patrons are more of an old pub style.

great location, tucked under Star Bar! They have beer deals and the MOST delicious cocktails, try the ginger cocktail and enjoy an evening on the porch!

This place is adorable. Finally the place that we've all known so well, the Star Bar, reinvents their downstairs area into a quaint and eclectic cocktail lounge. Complete with craft and local brews, cozy nooks perfect for intimate gatherings with friends or a date, this place is sure to be a hit. Once a place where PBR drinking 20 somethings shoved drugs up their noses in it's dark corners has finally transformed into a great neighborhood lounge with tasty hand-crafted concoctions. Still keeping with the timeless history and culture of the Star Bar but just upgraded to some place you can enjoy good company, tasty drinks and live Djs spinning hip tunes. Great ambiance and a spruced up patio to chill on. Little Five needed this.
